Adriano stalked out of the house, after grabbing a long jacket, his gaze narrowing on the woman as she climbed out of her own car that had parked in front of his house. Inside the house, he could hear the chuckle of Ignazia as she recognized the woman and he wanted to scream at her. Not that it was her fault, because it wasn’t, at least not in a way he could blame her. He pinched his nose as he leaned against the side of his house while the woman walked over.
“What the f**k are you doing, Sara?”
“Well, I had to see what’s been keeping you all this time. I wasn’t aware you were f*****g the help.” Adriano rolled his eyes.
“I’m not f*****g her. Since when did you become a jealous b***h?” Sara lifted her chin slightly and then glared at the woman through the window.
“Why are you leaving your club so late these last few days?”
“I thought there was a car following us since then, but I wasn’t sure. She works for me, Sara.”
“Ew, why would you want her to? She can’t possibly be good for your bar.” Adriano let out a breath and shook his head.
“She is, actually. She’s smart, funny, sexy in her attire, and is a really good f*****g bartender, which is why I hired her. Now, what is the concern here because you really don’t care if I f**k someone else or not.”
“Not her,” she said, crossing her arms. Ignazia was a lot of things that Adriano admired; however, she was also a woman he wouldn’t touch. Not just the looks issues, but a couple of others; like she was a favorite of the boss’s and he also worried that she would break him in two if he tried anything stupid. But that still didn’t explain why Sara was so out to make such a statement.
“Why?”
“I don’t like her.” Adriano laughed at how crazy of a statement that was. One would think that as Sara was his fiancé, she wouldn’t like any woman he f****d. But seeing as it was the furthest thing from some love relationship, there were no worries on either side.
“Yeah, that’s rich. Look, I don’t have time for this s**t. I had a long night at the club and want to get to bed. So, why don’t you f**k off with this nonsense? And where did you even tell your dad you were going?” With that, he looked up and around. “And where the f**k are your guards?”
“I ditched them.”
“f*****g hell, Sara! You can’t be doing that dumb shit.” She smirked and slid up to him, catching his jacket and pulling him close.
“I can go into your house, and you can protect me there?” Yeah, that wasn’t happening. One female in his domain was enough for him; he sure didn’t need another.
“Think again. I’m following you back to your house, now. And I will make it a point to talk to your guards, and your father, who will be f*****g pissed you left the house without proper supervision, especially with what’s going on. f**k, you know better than that, Sara!” She pouted but he just shook his head. She couldn’t get over on him, not with s**t like that when she knew better. He took her arm and escorted her back to the car, and helped her in. “I’ll be right behind you, so don’t try some dumb shit.”
“What the f**k ever,” she said as she rolled her eyes and started the car. With that, he stormed back into his house, barely tossing a glance Izzy’s way.
“Get dressed. I’m not leaving you alone and I need to take care of this.” He watched as she nodded, obviously getting the hint that he wasn’t in the mood, and he wasn’t. Sara’s stunt was going to cost her guards and he wasn’t sure he could defend them. Not that she cared, but she didn’t. He growled at how f*****g spoiled she was as he went into his room and quickly pulled on some jeans and a top. Not his usual attire when he went to see the boss, but it couldn’t be helped. Not now, not after this. He slipped some shoes on and walked out of his room at the same time that Izzy did.
He led her to the car and helped her before backing out and stopping right behind Sara. At least she had the f*****g smarts to wait for him rather than take off again. God, he wasn’t sure who would wring her neck first; him or her dad. But he knew it would be a s**t storm once her dropped her off and he was almost wishing he didn’t have to be there.
20 minutes later, he pulled into the long driveway behind her and climbed out, Ignazia following as well. He looked around, saw the red car that belonged to her guards, and shook his head. At least they had the brains to come back here rather than trying to stalk her over this God damn city. He walked by it, still feeling the heat, and then up to the doorway, allowing Sara to walk in first. He was about to head upstairs when he saw Carlo walking down the stairs, tying his belt to his robe as he did so.
“There’s a f*****g party at my house and I didn’t know about it?” he asked, taking in the men and then his daughters. He walked over to his bar and poured himself a glass before turning around to look at everyone again. “It’s a God damn shame, Sara, when I’m being woken up at 3:45 in the morning because the guards seemed to have lost my daughter, who left my house without mentioning anything.” His pointed stare landed on her, and she stepped forward.
“Daddy, I was worried,” she whined and Adriano rolled his eyes.
“Worried over what, Sara? What the f**k could you do be doing this early in the morning and alone for that matter?”
“I was making sure that Adriano wasn’t cheating on me with Ignazia.” That had Carlo spitting out his drink that he had just taken a sip of.
“I’m sorry, come again, Sara?” Sara walked over to her dad and took his hand, giving him the best puppy look.
“I noticed that the last few nights Adriano wasn’t wanting to go out with me, that he was at his club, so I followed him the other night. I saw him get out with Ignazia and decided I would follow them again tonight. He’s doing something he shouldn’t be doing daddy, and it’s all her fault. I told you she was bad news daddy, I just told you. And look, she’s trying to take my man, a man you picked for me, daddy.” Carlo just rubbed his head as he looked down at her. His eyes flashed for a second before he looked up at her men.
“You may be excused. However, this better not happen in the future, or I’ll make sure your body will be found piece by piece over this God damn city.”
“Yes sir,” both men mumbled and left. Adriano watched them leave before turning to look back at Carlo who was staring at Sara.
“Ignazia works, Sara, for Adriano, did you know that?” Sara wrinkled up her nose at the mere thought.
“He said something about that.”
“And what, you don’t believe me? Because it’s the truth. Against my better judgment,” he said, looking at them before looking back at Sara, “I said it was okay. Adriano’s job is to watch Ignazia. But he also has jobs to do and can’t do them and leave her alone. So, get over the fact that he has to watch her.”
“But daddy, why can’t other men watch her, why does it have to be my fiancé?” Adriano rolled his eyes and was surprised she didn’t stomp her foot.
“Because I said it and my rule is the law! I don’t give a f**k who you are, you don’t question me!” His eyes blazed and Adriano was almost tempted to step in front of Sara to protect her from the wrath, but she brought this on herself. And beyond that, she was getting way too f*****g good at questioning everything. When he took over this family, that was something that he wasn’t going to have to contend with. He wasn’t going to allow it from anyone, let alone his wife. “What you did was wrong, Sara.”
“But if I could trust Adriano, or really Ignazia not to try to steal what’s mine, then I wouldn’t have to worry.”
“Oh my God,” Ignazia cried out from beside him. He wanted to reach out to stop her, but she was already gone and in front of Sara before he could. “Look, I don’t care who the f**k you are, sister, stepsister, princess, or not, but you don’t get to keep throwing me under the bus because you feel like I’m going to take over. Get a news flash princess, I don’t want your life! I never did and I sure as hell don’t know want it now. So, for you to do stunts that gets others in trouble because you have a complex problem is downright stupid. I will not allow you to blame me because you’re too insecure about yourself on other levels.”
“Why you….” But Carlo quickly grabbed her daughter and pulled her back.
“Abbastanza (enough),” Carlo yelled. “Prendi il nella tua stanza, ora, Sara (Get your ass to your room, now, Sara)!” She nodded and made her way to the stairs, slowly climbing them. “It’s late Adriano, and I don’t want you driving back to your house. You and Ignazia can stay in the guest house.” At that, Sara turned back around to say something, but Carlo glared at her. “Don’t f*****g piss me off, Sara, you won’t like it.”
