The Fairy's Christmas Fairytale

Chapter 8

Iridessa

When Lavander came up to my apartment, I had already showered and was standing in my walk-in closet in a towel, trying to decide what to wear. We were only going to the bistro, so it didn't have to be anything fancy, but I still wanted to get dressed up.

So I picked out a spaghetti-strapped dress that went to the knees. It was tight around the chest area and then puffed out and flowed down to my knees. It was a light blue color, and I picked out a pair of heels to wear with it. Once I had it picked out, I found a light blue bra and thong set and put them on.

Lavender used the blow dryer on my hair and then took the curling iron and put curls in my hair. We decided to leave my hair down. It was really long, so it took a little bit to get it all curled. When my hair was done, she did my makeup. She used light and nude colors for my makeup, and it looked good when she was done.

Before she left, she helped me get my dress and heels on and then headed out. I found a clutch purse and put my card holder, keys, phone, and lip gloss in it. It was cold out, so I grabbed a long coat and put it on. Since Gizmo was going with me, I grabbed his little birdy coat and put it on him. Then I put his harness and leash on him. Then, after he was sitting on my shoulder, I was ready to head out.

Instead of me driving, I was having my cousins and bodyguards, Leander and Thor, drive me. Leander is Uncle Rowan's son. He had moved to the fairy kingdom for a couple of years so that he could learn how to be a royal bodyguard. And then he moved back here to go to college. He knew all of that time where I was and never once told my family.

Thor is my Uncle Puck and Aunt Fern's son. He's been one of my best friends since we were kids. Puck and Fern lived in the castle, so we grew up together, and he spent more time with me than he did with my brothers or sister because we were closer in age. When I left home, he followed behind me two years later. And has been with me since then.

When I got to the car, Thor was standing there holding the door open.

"Where are we going tonight?" he asked as I got into the back seat.

"To the bistro, I have a date," I told him.

"With who?" Leander asked me.

"His name is Chris Clausen. He came to the office today to meet me. He wants to talk about a business venture. So I told him that I'd meet him at the bistro," I said.

Thor shut my door and got into the passenger seat, and we headed out. Gizmo got off my shoulder and hopped up on the console between the guys.

"How is it hanging, Giz?" Thor asked him.

"A little low and to the left," Gizmo replied.

While the guys cracked up at the s**t they taught Gizmo to say, I was just shaking my head at them. We chatted all the way to the bistro, and when we got there, Gizmo got back on my shoulder. Thor opened the door for me, and after I got out, we headed inside.

This was my favorite place to come. I knew the owners, and because it was pet-friendly, I was able to bring Gizmo with me. Gladys and Sam opened this place years ago. And because their son had to have a service dog, they decided to make this place pet-friendly. As they said, some people had emotional support animals, and because of the kind of animal that it was, it couldn't be registered as such.

When we stepped into the Bistro, Gladys was at the front counter.

"Oh, there is my beautiful little boy blue," she said. She has always called Gizmo her little boy blue because of his coloring. His belly is a dark blue, and his head and wings are a light blue. He is a very handsome boy.

"Hey, Hot momma," Gizmo yelled. I just shook my head at him. He heard Sam call her hot momma once, and it stuck. Now that's what he calls her.

"Hello, Gladys. How are you today?" I asked you.

"I'm doing well, sweet girl. I'm surprised to see you here tonight. This isn't one of the nights that you come in. What's wrong?" she asked me.

"Nothing is wrong. I have a business date, and I recommended coming here. That way, Gizmo could come with me," I told her.

"Oh, a date, ok. Well, your regular seat is empty still, so go sit down, and I'll bring you a Dr Pepper and some water and nuts for my boy," she said.

"Ok, Gladys, thank you," I said.

"Thanks, hot momma," Gizmo said.

I walked over to my normal table and helped Gizmo onto the perch that sits behind it. Then I took my coat off and sat down. Leander and Thor sat down at a couple of tables away so that they were close enough if I needed them. But yet far enough away so that they couldn't hear my conversation.

I only sat there for about ten minutes before Chris walked through the door. He looked like he was mad about something. But the instant that he saw me sitting here, his face changed, and he smiled as he walked over to me.

I stood up and put a smile on my face. I was ready to get this date started and see how we could work together. And for some reason, I had that feeling about him again. Like he was someone important to me. I guess we'll have to find out without the use of magic, though, because I'm not taking the chance of being found.
