Joe’s POV
Go f*****g figure the best thing to happen to this nowhere town in as long as I can remember would be tied to him. The second I saw her today I was almost knocked to my knees. Ezra strode up to her before I could even decipher if she was real or not. And when I heard he was asked to help her get the lay of the land I knew I’d never have a chance, even before he told us he thinks she’s his mate I knew I’d never measure up. Maybe I’m delusional, maybe it’s wishful thinking, or maybe it’s a death wish but I’m not going to lose without a fight. She doesn’t know about our world, that beautiful ignorance of hers could be my saving grace. Maybe if she chooses me before the truth comes out it’ll be too late. He can threaten me all he wants if he wants to try and hide behind pack politics instead of treating her like a person with her own free will. Maybe the more he tries to assert himself in her life the more she’ll pull away… and I could offer her that choice if we get close enough… maybe, just maybe…
Cameron’s POV
Goddess these two are incorrigible. You’d think someone threw a f*****g bone in the middle of these two dogs the way they’re circling her. This poor girl doesn’t deserve this. Hopefully Aubrey and I can help shield her from the bullshit enough. When word spread across campus that a human was transferring I think the whole place thought it was a joke. Mrs. Crawford made sure to straighten it out in time before she showed up. Changed the classes, changed the policies, and warned everyone that there would be no shifter behavior until she gave the word, but I don’t think even she could’ve seen it coming that the human in question would be fated to her own son. A lot of the students here had a big problem with all the changes and having to hide, me… I kinda like it. Makes me feel normal for once. Makes me feel like I’m not just some cog in the wheel of this town, no ranks or anything on school grounds until further notice, at least not openly, but leave it to a bunch of hormonal wolves to never let anything go. Rank is all that matters to most of these people, you’d think in a small pack like ours it wouldn’t, hopefully that’ll change soon. And hopefully Joe will get his head out of his own ass before he gets himself killed or worse…
Siobhan’s POV
This poor little human has no idea the den she’s entered. Hopefully I can offer her a helping hand without revealing too much. Being the resident witch in the pack makes it easy to go unnoticed but the amount of pressure put on this student body for the foreseeable future is a recipe for disaster. Too many pent up instincts is never a good mix with teenage angst thrown in the mix. I’ll have to keep a close eye on her especially if I’m going to figure out why it seems she has a seal around her soul… let’s just hope these dueling animals don’t kill her first.
