Chapter Three
(Nicholes POV cont.)
I had to do something cause I know if I didn’t that I would regret it for the rest of my life.
So, I made this plan. Luke (summers brother who I've had a crush on for forever) would pretend to be in the army and slowly without anyone seeing him would unchain all the people who are chained five at a time.
Then Summer and I would help them get outta there.
The only problem was the people in the front and there was someone up there that I knew.
My memory was a little hazy of this person but he looked like my brother I had lost a long time ago.
I know that it is not him be because just like my parents he got shot. The only reason that I am still alive is because I hid with Summer and her family but the soldiers must have not noticed anything. Like a new member of the family or must have not been ever paying attention to us but the less suspicious we are the less chance we have of dying.
So this I know just is crazy to think that this boy could be my (possibly not?) dead brother. I snapped out of my thoughts because Operation Free man just started (that’s what we are calling it.).
Our first wave of people came. Each wave includes 5 people starting from the back of the line where there barely any soldiers and guards.
The soldiers also force the townspeople to crowd the street as the parade of captives walks past. Luckily I was in hiding and only watched long enough to get the plan in my head and see who was in the line.
Back to the point. The first wave of people came to Summer and I and we got their names and where they had lived I have listed them below in the order of when they came
-Arrietty White- a child at the local orphanage
-Carrie Mentan- A woman who lives alone and has her own farm
-Esperanza Keonie- A local child who has been living in an orphanage after the soldiers took the rest of her family.
-Karana Expen- A local orphan who was taken from her grandparents whom she lived with because they were too old to work so the soldiers just let them be because they can’t have any more kids and they want our population to die out. HOW RUDE!
-Celeste Kingsman- A woman whose husband is in our army
Those are the people we have freed from the terror today.
We might more we do not know until we do it next week.
Well, that’s all
