The day of Júlia's birthday had arrived. Jade and Heitor had prepared a party for her and Benicio. At this party were some relatives of Jade and Heitor, some friends of Benicio, and others who were friends of Jade in college and had also become friends of Júlia. She was so happy, feeling a strong sense of belonging, so loved and cherished; knowing that Heitor had helped prepare all of it made her see how much he loved her and was dedicated to showing it.
“I don't just have a father-in-law; I have a second father,” said Benicio, appearing there and drawing Heitor's eyes away from Júlia, who, in his view, looked even more wonderful that night. Benicio greeted Heitor with a hug. He laughed and then said:
