Chapter 15
SERAFINA
I joined Angela, all my worries thrown out the window; there were so many children, and their scared faces scarred my heart.
They didn't want to be touched; some resisted as the nurses tried to take them. "Monster!" One of the kids yelled fighting against a nurse.
"Wait," I said. I slowly approached them, peering into the little boy's eyes. He looked about age six; his blond hair was ravaged by dirt and some tree leaves, and his clothes were torn and roughened in mud.
"What's wrong, my love?"
Tears gathered in his beautiful blue eyes, "Mommy didn't come back, she took me camping but she didn't come back for me. A monster took her. She's taking me too, that makes her a monster. Monsters take..." he bursts out crying, clamping his little hands over his eyes.
