The servant’s voice rang out, “Master Xavier has woken up”
The thick silence was followed by the announcement spread through the hall. Hands froze in their places, leaving a single thread of clothing barely holding onto her body.
It didn’t take them long to move, their legs turning toward Xavier’s room not before Declan gave the order to put Iris into the cage.
Iris was sitting on the floor, numbness spreading through her body. As one of the bodyguards moved forward, gripping her arms in an iron-tight hold, he yanked her from the floor with a harsh pull.
He dragged her body through the hall. Iris wanted to resist and refuse, but she couldn't because her body didn’t support her.
