Emily's POV
“Wendy, I really don’t want to go,” I mumbled, dragging the pillow over my ears, trying to block out her voice.
She sighed and then pulled the blanket from my body, leaving me exposed. I shrank back instinctively, hugging the pillow to myself. “We have to go, Emily,” she said firmly. “And we have to go right now. Tyler’s already at the hospital.”
I groaned, pressing the pillow against my face again. “I really don’t want to go.”
She knelt beside me, her hands on my shoulders, and shook me gently. “Emily, you can’t hide forever. He’s going to see the results today, and you need to be there. We need to know the truth, once and for all.”
