Tacy POV
I could feel my body drifting down the river. My heavy body refused to move from the river bank we landed at.
“Give me 5 more minutes, Tacy…” Kira my inner wolf sleepily drifts back into a dreamland of pouncing foxes and silly raccoons. The comforting dreame is only shattered by being abruptly woken up. My body is lifted off the ground like a feather. Glaring at those around me, this welcome committee is too many to count. Struggling free, I finally break away from Alpha Liam, he hastily places an overlarge t shirt over me.
“I thought I told you not to go anywhere without me!” he growls.
“I am my own person. I can do what I please.” placing my hands on my hips.
“There are dangers out here that could hurt you. What if you were kidnapped by hunters or vampires?” He sighs, folding his arms over his bare chest.
“Let’s get this straight, vampires only come out at night. And as far as I can tell, its the middle of the day right now. As for hunters, They only hunt in Canada.” This conversation is over for all I care. Walking away through the crowd of werewolves, Liam stops me. Placing his hand on my shoulder, he halts my retreat.
“We are not done here. You belong to me, and to me alone. If you are to be my Luna, you need to learn your place.” His snarl slowly growing.
“I’m tired of this. It’s the same with you. I refuse to be an Alpha’s property. I, Tacy Jorgeson reject you, Alpha Liam Black as my mate.”
Watching his eyes widen in shock is more amusing than I expected.
“No one rejects me! I will reject you!” he yells. “I, Alpha Liam Black reject you, Tacy Jorgensen as my mate and Luna.”
Murmurs hum among our werewolf audience. Rolling my eyes, I head back to the pack house to repack my things in my suitcases. Life back in Japan was surprisingly more simpler. As I’m climbing up the 10 flights of stairs, because I don’t remember the pin code for the elevator, my foot slips on a step. My body crashes downwards on the flight of stairs.
The feel of a vacuum, brooms and ladders around in the dark revealed my new predicament. A closet. A cleaning closet. Great.
Taking a moment to adjust my eyes to the dark confined space, my hands feel against the walls. Griping the best I can to the walls for support, I slowly lift my body up to stand. Waving my hand around the middle of the closet, the metal chain finally in my hand. A firm yank, and a light brightens up the cleaning closet.
“Cluck.” a chicken talks. Not sure if it’s angry or not with the sudden bright light. Several dozen of brooms are lined up together against the walls of the closet.
“Maybe I should take one for Liam and stick up where the sun don’t shine?” I tell the chicken. “What do you think?” I ask it.
“Cluck.” it says. Picking at the door to be free. What it would be like to be born as a bird? Then I wouldn’t have to worry about this whole werewolf drama. Laughing at myself, I make a plan of escape.
The door of the closet is locked. Of course. Taking my yoki in my hands, I bust it open, freeing me and the chicken. Looking around to find my way back upstairs, I notice I’m in the kitchen. The gigantic kitchen could be mistaken as a hotel or cruise ship kitchen. Manurveing around the Omega wolves, mostly women, I accidentally bump into one.
“Excuse me,” I say. “I’m sorry for bumping into you.”
Averting her eyes, she rushes back to where ever she was going.
The maze of the kitchen only slows me down. By the time I find the exit, I end up in the living room. A common room that is strangely quiet compared to the noise of the kitchen.
“Ah, there you are.” A petite voice addresses me. With a similar face and build as Alpha Liam, this could only be his mother.
“Um…” Not sure what to say in response.
Her soft hands firmly guide me by my arm to the sofa.
“I know things aren’t the best with my Liam right now. But things will get better. It may take a few months, or years. Although, the money spent on your relationship will benefit the pack. Especially you and Liam since you both make your money from the pack members.” Puzzled as to what exactly she talking about, my mouth only gaps open and closed like a dead fish.
“Here, things may get better between the two of you if you just get to know him more.” She states. Pulling out a photo album from the coffee table in front of us, she proceeds to open the book.
“Oh, here look. This is Liam running around with the other wolves in the pack. Isn’t he cute? He’s only 1 years old in this photo. His snake flapping around freely gave us all good laugh.” Pointing to another photo, can this get any more awkward?
“This is when we were potty training him. He learned about toilet paper and ended up using it as decoration around the pack house. He used all the toilet we had in the storage room. And this one,” She continued, “He ended up spelling his name on the bathroom walls. His aim became spot on.” her eyes tearing up with pride, “He just chose his own targets instead of the toilet bowl. I think he ended peeing on a visiting Alpha around this time also.” She giggles.
“Um…this has been great, Luna but I think its time for me leave. I don’t want to impose any more than I already am.” Standing up from the luxurious couch, my body bolts towards the stairs. Basically sprinting up the ten flights of stairs. Slamming the door behind me, I close my eyes to calm my nerves.
This place is absolutely crazy. Catching my breath and solidifying my escape plan in my mind, I then gather what I can into a suitcase. Rushing around to pack my clothes that somehow were all placed in the walk in closet. Neatly folded in a drawer or hung with care on a rack.
By some miracle of the moon goddess, I was able to reach the entrance of the pack house undetected. Or so I thought.
Blocking the door, Liam and his goons surround me.
“Look, um, … about earlier,” Liam looks at the ground while scratching the back of head. “ Let’s work this out. What we said earlier… I’ll take you back if you want.”
His green eyes finally lock with mine. “I mean, let me redeem myself.” He slowly approaches me, his naked, chiseld chest and abs dripping with sweat for some reason. The musky scent of phermones only makes me gag.
What the hell is he talking about? And why does he have to be so damn hot?
He reaches out and takes my hand, his thumb grazing over my knuckles. “Let me make it up to you,” he whispers, his voice low and husky.
I try to pull away, but he tightens his grip. “What are you doing?” I demand.
“I just want to talk to you,” he says innocently enough, but the way he's looking at me tells me there's more than that going on here.
“About what?” I ask warily.
He shrugs, still not letting go of my hand.
"About today. My wolf and I just want you to be safe."
I narrow my eyes at him. "What does that even mean?"
He sighs and finally lets go of my hand. "It means that we want to protect you."
"From what?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest.
"From anything," he replies. "You're our mate, and it's our job to make sure you're safe."
I snort. "I don't need your protection."
He steps closer to me, his body heat enveloping me. "Yes, you do," he says softly. "You might not realize it, but you need us."
I frown up at him. "Why would you say that?"
"Because it's true," he replies. "You're special, Tacy. You're our mate, and we would do anything to keep you safe."
I'm not sure what to say to that. Part of me wants to believe him, but the other part of me is just too scared.
"Just think about it, okay?" he says after a moment. "We'll be around if you need us."
And then he turns and walks away, leaving me standing there alone.
“Tacy ,” my wolf whispers, “I want to go home.” My resolve weakens as she takes over. Blanking out inside my own mind.
A hum, or is it snoring that stirs me to wake up. It seems Kira, my wolf felt like sleeping also. Turning my head, I’m expecting to be back in the broom closet. Or in my minimal decorated bedroom at the Blue Moon pack house. Instead, the first face I see is someone familiar. His warm smiles dissipates all my built up stress from Blue Moon.
“How are you feeling princess?” He softly asks.
