Chapter 7The next morning, despite his thumping head, Jo arrived promptly at the small office in the Strand, hired in the autumn as the official residence of the servicemen’s organization, where he engaged in the dull but manageable task of sorting correspondence into piles of bills or donations. Now that the charity was becoming established, he and Ben had mulled over the fact that the office had become an unnecessary overhead since it was at least as convenient for Jo to do the paperwork in Ben’s Piccadilly suite.
