Mitch’s POV: (One day after Gabriella’s Departure) I lie in bed with swollen eyes. My heart finally beating at a reasonable tempo against the wild rhythm of memories flashing through my mind. Everywhere I look creates cracks in my heart, even in what was once my small home. The memory of Gabriella sprawled out on the couch, her arms hugging a book and her laughs echoing through the air, but fading deep into the bare walls, consumes the dark corners of my head.
