Amara’s POV.
The gentle chirping of birds and the sunlight filtering through the window woke me up from my slumber. I blinked my eyes open and stretched, feeling the soreness in my muscles that had been put to good use the previous night. Speaking of which, memories of making love to Damien under the moonlight came flooding back.
I rolled over to snuggle up against him, but to my surprise, he wasn’t there. I realized he was no longer in bed with me. I sat up in bed with a frown. I looked around the room, searching for any sign of him, but he was nowhere to be found. I felt a pang of disappointment, followed by an irritation. I had planned to see him before anyone else in the morning, but I fell through. He could have at least said goodbye.
