Jane had always dreamed of the day when her boyfriend and love of her life Liam Harris would propose to her. The two of them had been together for seven years, and she felt like she knew him better than anyone else in the world. She loved him deeply and thought that he felt the same way about her.
So on the day Liam got down on one knee and presented her with a ring, Jane didn't hesitate for a second. She threw her arms around him and said "Yes!" with tears streaming down her face. She felt like the happiest woman in the world that day and couldn't wait to spend the rest of her life with Liam.
A week later after Liam had proposed to Jane something she didn’t see coming happened..
Jane had been out with her friends, enjoying a night of laughter and good company. And when she was to go home she realized that Liam's house was just a few blocks away. She had missed him terribly, and the thought of surprising him with a visit made her heart flutter so she decided to visit him.
As she approached Liam's house, she noticed that the lights were on which meant that he was certainly home. She had a key to his house, so she didn't think twice about letting herself in.
"Baby?" Jane called out as she let herself in.
"Liam?" She called out again as she walked through the hallway, her heart beating with excitement. She was eager to see him, to feel his arms around her and his lips on hers.
But as she rounded the corner into the living room, her smile faded and her heart sank. There, on the couch, lay a lady's dress and a man's trousers spread carelessly across the cushions.
Jane stopped in her tracks and her eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her mind raced with questions; Who was the woman? Was Liam cheating on her?
For a moment, she stood frozen in place, unable to move or speak. Her heart felt like it had been ripped out of her chest. She had trusted Liam completely and had thought that he loved her as much as she loved him. But now, everything seemed uncertain.
She slowly approached the couch and her eyes fell on a pair of high-heeled shoes lying on the floor. The sight of the shoes made her feel sick to her stomach. She knew then that her worst fears had come true.
Tears welled up in her eyes.
Her heart was pounding in her chest as she made her way up the stairs to Liam's room. She was still in shock from what she had seen in the living room, and she didn't know what to expect next.
As she walked closer to Liam's room, she began to hear moans coming from behind the closed door.
"Hmmm...Hmmm… this feels so good." A voice that sounded like a lady's spoke.
At first, she couldn't tell what was happening, but as she listened closer, she realized with a sickening feeling that Liam was having s*x with someone.
The sounds were vivid and erotic, sending shivers down Jane's spine.
"f**k! Yes! f**k me harder!"
"Ple..ase don't stop. Faster! Faster!!"
Jane could hear the rhythmic slapping of flesh against flesh, the wet sounds of kissing and caressing, and the breathy moans of pleasure. She was going crazy as she stood outside the door. It was as if Liam and his lover were lost in their world, completely unaware of the pain and betrayal that they were causing her.
Slowly, she turned the knob and pushed the door open. And what she saw made her heart stop.
Liam was lying on the bed with a woman and not just any woman, it was her cousin, Lilly! They were both naked and intertwined. They were lost in their own world, oblivious to Jane's presence.
Jane couldn't believe her eyes. Her mind raced with questions: How long had this been going on? Was this the reason why Liam had been distant lately? Had her cousin betrayed her in the worst possible way?
She stood there in shock, unable to move or speak. The sight of Liam and Lilly together was like a punch to the gut. As she watched, Liam and Lilly continued to move together, their bodies writhed with pleasure as their moans filled the room, echoing off the walls.
Finally, Jane couldn't take it any longer.
"Liam? Lilly ? What's going on here?"
Both Liam and Lilly were shocked to see Jane looking at them. Lilly tried to hide with a blanket due to how embarrassed she was while Liam just stared at Jane with his mouth agape.
With a sudden burst of anger and hurt, Jane turned and left the room without another word. She couldn't imagine ever forgiving Liam or her cousin for what they had done to her.
Jane could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she walked down the stairs, ignoring Liam's calls after her. She didn't want to hear what he had to say. Not now. Not after what he had done. Not after what she had just witnessed.
The cool evening air hit her face as she burst out of the door and onto the porch. She was breathing heavily, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she tried to catch her breath. And then she took off her ring and threw it onto the porch before leaving.
As she walked to her car she heard Liam's voice behind her. "Baby please, wait. Let's talk about this."
She stopped and turned to face him, her expression cold and distant. "There's nothing to talk about, Liam. And don't you dare call me that."
Liam took a step towards her, his hand outstretched. "Please, Jane. Let me explain."
But Jane shook her head, her eyes never leaving his. "I don't want to hear it. We are done!!"
And with that Jane turned, entered her car, and drove away.
**************
Jane sat across from her latest blind date, trying her best to be polite and engaging. But as the minutes ticked by, she found herself growing more and more bored.
It wasn't that her date was unpleasant or unattractive, but there was simply no spark between them. She had lost interest in dating since her breakup with Liam, and these blind dates were starting to feel like a chore.
As she tried to think of something to say, her mind wandered to her mother, who had set her up on this date in the first place. Chantelle had been relentless in her quest to find Jane a husband, and Jane couldn't help but feel a little resentful. She didn't need her mother to meddle in her love life, especially not after what had happened with Liam.
"So, Jane, what do you like to do for fun?" her date asked, interrupting her thoughts.
Jane forced a smile. "Oh, you know, the usual stuff. Reading, watching movies, hanging out with friends."
Her date nodded, looking a little disappointed. "Oh, I was hoping you were into something more exciting. I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie myself."
Jane tried to feign interest, but it was no use. She knew this date was going nowhere, and she was ready for it to be over.
As they finished their meal and said their goodbyes, Jane couldn't help but feel a little relieved. Her mom had to stop with the blind dates because it was beginning to drive her crazy.
