The plane touched New York soil and Sawyer smiled, he glanced at Sofia who was fast asleep on his chest.
He was hit with guilt again as he thought of what Sofia was going through all because of him. There was no two ways about it, she is going to get hurt and he is going to be the cause.
But then his heart gladden despite the guilt he was feeling, he was able to save her from her wretched mother. He still couldn't understand how a mother would treat her child so, or how the hatred for a child ran so deep in the heart of the mother.
Whatever was the reason, he was glad he got her out of there before she found out. Her mother had tried to throw him under the bus and ruin whatever relationship he has with her.
