I quietly leave when Charles arrives home. It doesn't take much to see it in his eyes. He is ready to have some alone time with Pearl. I will not lie, I am glad he came when he did because I was having second thoughts on coming in and checking on her to make sure she is tucked in one last time. The temptations are there. Bad. But like I said, what good would it do? I am second in command beneath two Alphas. I know my place. Pearl and I get along too well. That is the problem. God, I wish Charles would stop making me watch her so much.
