Vivian's POV When I woke up, I was laying on a cold, stone floor. I sat up slowly as I struggled to remember where I was. I looked around, my head pulsing and I gasped as I realized for the first time I was naked. There was a thin sheet over me, that I grabbed and wrapped tightly around me. I whimpered as memories flitted through my mind, my shifting and running and the battle that ensued. I felt tears spring to my eyes, unsure on how everyone in my pack faired. I hope my family was at least alright. I shuddered at the thought that they may not be. Looking around, I saw a single door in the small room and I slowly stood up and made my way over to peer out. I couldn't see much, just more of a stone hallway with another two doors that are similar to mine. A dungeon, then? Perhaps someone from my pack is here with me. I initially tried to cast my mind out to link, but that made the pounding even worse and I gasped in pain at the headache. After a few slow breaths, I cautiously called out with my voice instead. "Hello?" Gaining no response, I called a little louder. "Hello? Anyone?" I called through the bars on my window but if there was anyone in the other two cells I could see, they were staying silent. I sighed and settled back down on the floor, trying to collect my thoughts. I had been abducted, but why? Why bring me with them when they didn't seem to take any other prisoners? I was so lost in this line of thought, that I didn't hear the footsteps approaching. "You're awake. Good," the deep voice startled me, my eyes going wide as I clutched the blanket closer to myself. "The prince wants to see you," the voice began as the door opened. My eyes darted to the opening to the side of the guard but he just shook his head. "I wouldn't try. You won't get far and the punishment is not worth it," he warned in a gruff but not unfriendly voice. He threw a gown down next to me before setting down a small tray. "You've been asleep for quite awhile. Drink and get dressed and we will go," he said simply, tuning to leave. My mouth suddenly felt like sandpaper and I found myself slowly crawling across the ground once the door was shut again. I drank the water quickly, nose pinching up slightly at the taste. It tasted minerally, something I was not used to. After making sure the guard wasn't peeking, I hurried to get dressed and made it to my feet. I considered things for a moment, trying to figure out if I should escape or not. Eventually I sighed and determined the better course of action was to see things through - for now. I can always plan a better escape later on. "I'm ready," I called quietly, slowly approaching the door as the guard opened it. I went to step out of the doorway but the guard held a hand up before producing a pair of shackles. I raised an eyebrow and made an obvious show of looking him over in a way that I hoped screamed 'What, you're afraid of a teenage girl?'. The guard just shrugged and slapped the shackles on my wrists before leading me off down the hall. I peered into the other rooms on the way by, my stomach dropping when I saw that they were all empty. None of them seemed even used. Although, my chamber also didn't seem like it had been used in awhile. It was a long walk through the corridors of what I can only assume was a castle. I tried to take in as many details as I could, but my head was still foggy and I couldn't pick up any scents. Suddenly, I frowned as I remembered the injection. I hadn't felt my wolf since I woke up, they had clearly done something to interfere and that was messing with my senses. I zoned out while I was pouting over the thought of being in this situation alone, and I didn't realize the guard had stopped until I collided with him. He gave me a cold look but didn't say anything, just turning to the large doors instead. "Don't be rude," he warned me before opening the doors and all but shoving me inside. I staggered a little bit, but managed to catch myself. Once in the room, I looked up and almost froze at the man sitting at a desk. He was handsome, with dark hair and green eyes that looked like they could just about glow in the right light. He looked young, but still older than me. His eyes flickered over me slowly, taking me in and I felt my cheeks grow warm again. "Well, hello," he almost purred and my mind was sending off all sorts of alarms at that. That voice. It was the same one that I heard during the battle, it was the voice that demanded my capture. The Alpha Prince. Of what territory, I wasn't sure and my eyes flickered around briefly to see if I could catch any clues in the chamber. "Well, aren't you going to greet your new prince?" he asked, voice giving away that his patience may be wearing thin. "You aren't my prince," I said before I could stop myself, bringing a hand up to cover my mouth. I took a moment to close my eyes and steady myself. I was alone but I could do this. I kept telling myself as much as I opened my eyes to look at him before respectfully lowering them to gaze at his chest. "Forgive me, that was rude," I tried to start again. "You are aware I can smell the contempt on you, right little pup?" the alpha asked as he stood up and I couldn't help the shiver that ran through me as I looked down at his feet as he slowly walked closer. "Ahh... the fear," he cooed and my eyes closed when his hand touched my cheek. It was lighter than I expected, he ran a thumb over my cheekbone before pulling his hand away. "I think you'll make a good pet." Pet?!
