"I think I might know where Deena might have hidden something," BJ told me. "But I don't think we're going to be able to get it."
"What do you mean?" Alec asked her gently. "Why wouldn't we be able to get it?"
I tried not to react to Alec's tone. I tried not to think about the fact that he never talks to me like that. Or that he's been super gentle with BJ this whole time.
God, I really need to get over myself. Alec is doing a good job. He's making BJ feel comfortable, and pulling information from her. It's been helpful. I shouldn't be getting jealous over something this stupid.
