Pamela sat at her desk with her head in her hands.
The evening’s operation had not gone the way that she had hoped it would, and as far as she was concerned her team had let her down.
Especially Hardy and PC Grant!
When Pamela had first received the message that they had caught the killer, she contacted the superintendent to give him the good news.
He in turn passed the details on up the command chain, with all the praise and kudos for the operation going to Pamela.
She was on such a high as she watched the team bundle the suspect into the back of the van that she was even willing at that point to ignore Hardy’s disobedience and let the incident pass.
Then came the call form the PC Grant that she and Hardy were under attack.
