Hardy crashed down on his sofa, exhausted. It had been a very long, hard day, with very little to show for it at the end. The search of the area between Natasha Spencer’s house and the edge of town where she and Ben Green were apparently heading to had not produced a single clue as to their whereabouts. They knew from the report that they had received back from their telecommunications branch that the couple’s mobiles had last received a signal close to Natasha’s home, so that in itself was of no significant use.
