A little over half an hour later Hardy and Pamela were parked up opposite the main entrance to the park. Pamela busied herself by barking orders into her radio handset every couple of seconds, while Hardy kept mainly silent. It was obvious to anyone looking in from outside that he was not happy with the situation, but Pamela seemed—or at least acted—oblivious to the situation. Hardy had watched as PC Grant and the rest of the stake-out team made their way into the park and disappeared behind the first clump of bushes.
