Chapter 48 - You're mine

2260 Words
Isabel’s thoughts were spinning in her head. There was just too much on her mind to handle! She had a hard time grasping what was happening... Herself being pursued and attacked by werewolves, John being some werewolf lord, and his pack and family chasing them..? It was a little too much supernaturality for a natural scientist in one week! She glanced at John. He was still driving like a mad man, even if he had started to relax a little and was humming and drumming the wheel with his fingers. “So… what’s your plan?” she turned in her seat to face him. “I don’t know,” John admitted and stopped drumming. He looked at her, this beautiful woman who was making his heart sing. Even if they were caught up in this strange and difficult situation, he couldn’t help feeling excited – she was here, with him, knowing who and what he was! He didn’t have to hide it anymore, and it was such a great relief. Since he finally could be completely honest with her, and as she had accepted his true nature, he had let down his guard… Which only made his feelings for her to grow even stronger. He knew now that he would never be able to leave her. He had met the love of his life, and from this, there was no return. “We can’t just continue driving forever,” Isabel arched her brows, interrupting his ruminations. “That’s all I want for now, though,” he put his hand on her thigh and squeezed it lightly. “The feeling knowing that you are safe, here with me… It’s unbeatable. I don’t ever want to stop.” “But we must, eventually!” she smiled half-heartedly. “And we can’t live in your car.” “Maybe we can…” John considered with a wry smile on his lips. “No!” she laughed. “Besides, you said it yourself. Nothing is going to be solved by running away…” “True,” he admitted. Absentmindedly, John was stroking her thigh with his thumb, every touch sending her little jolts of anticipation through her body, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin. The electric sensation of his caress built up an overwhelming excitement within her, making her crave more of him. Dirty little thoughts started to play around in her head as she fantasized about what she wanted to do... Preferrably here and now, in this car. It didn't matter he was driving, it only made her even more excited. What if she would unbutton his pants? Or if she would climb over to straddle him? The more she thought of it, the more her body was aching for him. It was almost impossible to resist... John noticed Isabel’s breathing becoming shallower, sensing a shift in her mood. Her desire was palpable! His wolf started stirring excitedly in his chest, urging him to go with her flow. Still, he looked at her with surprise when she told him to stop the car. “What?” he chuckled and arched his brows, baffled by the authority in her voice. “I said: stop the car,” she smiled impishly, her hand trailing its way up his thigh. “You naughty girl,” he laughed at her. “We can’t stop now!” “I’m sure we can take a short break,” she insisted, her hand starting to unbutton his pants. “Isabel!” he couldn’t believe she was this bold...? “I think it’s better you find somewhere to stop, John,” she continued as she started working her hand down his underwear. “For the sake of our safety.” “Oh Jeez…” he groaned, pulling of the highway at the nearest exit. It happened to be a forest road, and he stopped the car as soon as he found a secluded spot. With a soft growl, he grabbed her by the waist and placed her in his lap, their lips feverishly seeking each other as they pulled off each other’s clothes. He pulled back his chair, giving them more space, as she started riding him. The unexpected heat of the moment and their mutual arousal made them both lose themselves in desire as their bodies merged, moaning with pleasure. “Don’t hold back,” she breathed as she was approaching climax. "You're so hot," he mumbled, kissing her on the collarbone. His hand trailed down the small of her back and squeezed her butt, speeding up the rhythm as she was riding him, while he kneaded her breast and softly pinched her n****e with the other. Finally, not holding back, they were hit by waves of pleasure. Their bodies consumed by their mutual fire, their minds exploding like fireworks, they climaxed simultaneously. As the waves of their release slowly started to subside, he cradled her in his lap. Gently, he removed the hair from her face and kissed her softly, and she nuzzled his neck, inhaling his manly scent of sandalwood and pine. This was bliss! She wished they could just stay like this forever. “Are you feeling cold?” he grabbed his shirt and placed it over her bare back. “No, on the contrary,” she exhaled, smiling at him drowsily. “I’m burning up.” “I’m sorry, I wasn’t really prepared for this… I didn’t withdraw,” he looked at her apologetically. “I told you not to hold back, remember?” she kissed him tenderly. “It’s you and me now. And you said it yourself, it’s not like I’ll get pregnant anyways.” “I guess not… I just want you to feel safe… And respected.” “I’ve never felt safer in my whole life,” she looked him deeply in the eye, her face suddenly serious. “I never felt this way with anyone before, John... I know, I used to be engaged, but what I felt for my ex is nothing compared to what I feel when I’m with you...” John felt a little uneasy when she mentioned her ex. His wolf was not better than most others, being extremely jealous and possessive! Nevertheless, he felt an instant relief – he had been unsure of the depth of her feelings towards him and their emerging relationship. She was just a human, after all... Humans didn’t mate, they couldn’t have a mates’ bond. What if she didn't understand that for him, mating was in a lifetime decision? He would love her for the rest of his life. The humans’ alliance, the marriage and the ring, was easily broken, compared with the werewolves mating bond that was truly sacred. Breaking the bond, even between chosen mates, would be mentally and physically painful for both. The only reasons for doing so would either be a serious betrayal or by rejecting one’s chosen mate due to the irresistible pull of a true mate. Otherwise, it would only be broken by death! What the humans called “for ever after, until death do us part,” was truly true in the world of the wolves. “I love you, Isabel,” he held her even closer, wishing to forever keep her safe from harm. “I’m so sorry I got you into this situation. I’m going to fix it, I promise. But for now, you’re not safe in the city, and I don’t dare bringing you back home to my pack yet. Not until I’m sure it would be safe.” “It’s not your fault,” Isabel sighed, gently stroking his cheek. “What I don’t understand, though, is why all this is happening to me? Why would all these werewolves be so interested in me, all of a sudden?” “I don’t know,” John admitted. “I just know they’re all intrigued by you and your scent… You have a wonderful scent, you know, and wolves are all about scents. It’s how we tell friends from foes, and it’s how we find our mates. But what I have a hard time understanding is how come I never sensed your presence before? We have been working at the same hospital for months, if not years…” “Well, I didn’t know about you either,” Isabel smiled. “I can’t believe you were there, all along… Maybe this is our destiny. The moment I broke up with David, it was meant to be that I met you. We couldn’t have met earlier, before I was mentally prepared to leave him… and we couldn’t have met later because then you would already have resigned.” John hadn’t thought about it, but it was true – just a few days later and he would never have met Isabel that night at the hospital. He would have been out with his pack, not even aware of her existence! The mere thought made his heart suffocate, and he growled possessively. “You’re mine,” he muttered. “I’m yours,” she nodded. After some time, they were ready to get dressed and go on with their journey. It was dark and a Quarter Moon was high up in the sky, shining it’s light upon them, when John steered the car back onto the highway. “Well, that was fun,” he grinned, his free hand once again resting at her thigh while the other was at the wheel. “You can rest and maybe sleep if you want, we’ll probably be driving the whole night.” “Why do we have to go so far?” Isabel wondered. “I want to put some distance between us and my family… Before I’ll try to talk to them. They’ll probably trace my call, so they’ll know our location as soon as I call them.” “You make them sound so… amicable,” she frowned. “They're good people! Just a little hot tempered,” he laughed. “I just need to make sure they understand the situation correctly. My father believes you’re a witch.” “That I’m a what?” Isabel burst out laughing. “A witch? Are you kidding me? Are there witches too?” “Naah,” John shook his head, smiling. “But there used to be. A long, long time ago. Some people believe that was how we, the werewolves, were created.” Isabel was silent, looking at him with wide eyes. “The legend says it was a mighty sorceress, one of the most powerful to ever walk the earth, who lived thousands of years ago… She was a master of life and death, and her ambition knew no bounds. She wished to create her own personal army of warriors and had the power to cast a spell that turned a human into a wolf, and a wolf into a human. Both these creatures lived in their human forms during day, but as night fell, they would transform into ferocious wolves, both being her humble servants. For years, they served her every whim, obeying her every command. The witch's control over them was absolute!" Isabel listened attentively. "But so it happened that they fell in love with each other and mated... and had a child! A little pup. They tried to run away, to save their little daughter from the life as a witch's slave, but the sorceress found them and killed them both.” He paused. “Go on!” Isabel urged him. “The witch took the pup and raised her as her servant. With time, the little pup turned into a marvellous werewolf, a fantastic beast, that was bigger and fiercer than any living creature on earth. She could easily shift between her human form, a real beauty with glowing hair falling all the way down to her feet, and her wolf form, that was more of a terrifying monster with the blackest of furs and sharpest of teeth! The witch thought that she would be able to control her, using her as her own personal weapon... But the day the werewolf realised the witch had murdered her parents, she killed her instantly. She ripped the witch apart and devoured her heart.” “Wow, that’s gross,” Isabel wrinkled her nose. “Yep, but that was the way she gained all of the witch’s powers. The werewolf became extremely powerful, and eventually she even became immortal.” “So where is she now?” Isabel frowned. “Don’t tell me she exists for real.” “Oh, but she does,” John smiled and looked up at the moon. “She’s right there, watching us.” “Ahh, so you mean she became the Moon Goddess?” “Exactly. And she has been watching out for us, her children, ever since.” “But it doesn’t make sense,” Isabel objected. “How did she get children then?” “We don’t know, the legend only says we are the offspring of the Moon Goddess, it doesn’t say how,” John shrugged his shoulders. “I really wonder, though… I still have a hard time understanding how it can even be physically possible for you to shift into a wolf. It contradicts everything I’ve ever learned… And I'm still waiting for you to show me!” “I will, later,” John promised. “I don’t think you want me to drive in my wolf form.” They both burst out laughing at the thought of a big furry beast driving the car.
