NOELIA'S POV.
What is going on with the boss? Is this how Keren operates in this workplace?
I felt an unsettling sensation when I encountered him, and given his stern demeanor, I am convinced I must be mistaken; otherwise, I would have confronted someone like him directly.
My frustration was evident as I made my way back to the coffee station.
The irritation grew when I discovered that the woman was absent from her post. Where could she possibly be?
As I stretched forth towards the coffee dispenser, I almost lost my balance and I quickly rested one of my hands on the counter.
Instantly, everything became blurry.
As I tried to lean my head against the counter, I slipped and landed on the floor.
“Noelia, Noelia,” I heard Keren's voice approaching rapidly as I turned in her direction, my eyes tightly shut.

KEREN'S POV.
“What seems to be the issue, nurse?” I asked as the nurse returned with the results after examining Noelia.
The moment Noelia collapsed, several colleagues and I hurried her to the company’s sickbay, where experienced nurses attend to the health and well-being of all employees.
“Can you explain the reason for her persistent dizziness?” Noelia inquired, concern evident on her face. “It’s actually a positive sign,” the nurse replied.
“Since when is dizziness considered a positive sign?” I questioned, glancing at Noelia, who appeared just as bewildered by the nurse's statement.
“Congratulations, Noelia,” the nurse announced. “You are a week pregnant,” she added, prompting both Noelia and me to gasp in disbelief.
“No, that cannot be true!” I exclaimed, rising abruptly from my chair. “This is not possible,” Noelia said as she got off the bed and hurried out of the room.
“Noelia, Noelia,” I called out as I followed her. “Noelia, please wait!” I urged, grasping her hands from behind.
Tears filled Noelia's eyes, and I enveloped her in a comforting embrace.
“How did this even happen?” I asked as Noelia and I settled into our usual spot at the company cafeteria.
I wanted to know how Noelia, who was always the saint in the story ended up pregnant.
I shouldn’t be feeling happy about it, but I'm enjoying the drama!
“I have no clue. It all seems strange, but when I woke up, the bed was covered in blood, and I was completely naked,” Noelia replied, hiding her face in her hands.
“It’s okay, girl. You can tell me anything. I’m here for you,” I reassured her, even though I secretly wanted her to know that she wasn’t as innocent as she thought.
I’ve loved Noelia since we met, but I couldn’t stand how she always snagged the attention of the guys I admired.
“Who is this person?” I asked after a brief pause. As Noelia was about to respond, my phone buzzed. It was Henry Adam calling. I answered right away.
“I need you in my office,” he commanded, and I quickly stood up from my seat.
“I’ll be right back, Noelia,” I said. After I pressed a kiss on her cheeks, I left.
Noelia, Noelia, this is what you get for always trying to win people's heart with your stupid innocent face.
Strolling through the hallways to Henry's office, I overheard two voices through the president's office.
I wanted to walk away, but my curiosity got the best of me.
I leaned against the door to listen, and I caught Henry and Jayden in a heated argument.
“Noelia can’t be the woman you slept with,” Henry’s voice thundered, and I gasped.
Wait, what? Did I just hear that right?
Did the boss hook up with Noelia? No way!
“Noelia Larson, or whatever her name is, needs to leave this company,” Jayden’s voice followed, leaving me in shock.
Just as I was processing their conversation, my phone chimed with a message. “Don’t bother about the meeting,” Henry’s message flashed on my screen.
The moment I heard footsteps approaching from down the hallway, I quickly stepped away from the entrance of the president's office.
Noelia can't have that baby, especially if it's for Jayden. I’ll make sure of it!

NOELIA'S POV.
The way he kicked me out of the office is an experience I never want to relive.
I had gone back to see what my next task was since Keren didn't show up at the cafeteria, only to run into an irate boss—Jayden Smith, as I overheard some coworkers call him.
“Why would you be sick on your first day?” His words replayed in my mind as I left the building.
There was no point in calling Keren to head home together; I just needed some time alone.
“You finished work early. How was your first day?” my mom asked as I sat down for dinner.
The freshly baked potato and sauce were waiting for me, and she took a seat next to me. “It was fine,” I replied, digging into my meal.
As soon as I took a bite, a weird feeling hit me, and I dropped my fork instantly and stood up.
“What’s with you? Don’t you like it?” My mom asked.
Something swirled inside of me the moment I took a bite. Gradually, it transported from my stomach to my throat making me feel uneasy as I rushed to my bathroom upstairs to throw up.
“Noelia, are you okay?” I heard my mom call from downstairs. “I’m fine. Just going to bed,” I replied as I left the bathroom and flopped onto my bed.
“You need to abort that pregnancy,” my phone buzzed. As I checked, it was Keren’s message at the top of my phone screen.
“Your child needs a father,” she advised.
I sent her a thumb up before tossing my phone to the bed.
There’s no way I’m letting this go.
I need to know who was behind this.
I must find out!

The following morning.
“You're not going to work?” my mom asked just as I was about to leave the house.
“Nope! I’ve got something to attend to,” I replied.
“Did you ask your boss for permission?” She inquired, stepping closer to the door.
“I didn't,” I replied as I turned towards her direction. “Be careful Noelia; you won't want to lose your job because of your attitude,” she warned.
If only she knew how tough my boss really is. “I’ll be fine. But if we keep talking, I'd run late,” I said.
Before my mother could say anything else, I stormed out of the apartment.
I hopped into a cab headed for the Brix clubhouse, the place Keren brought me for the party.
A few minutes later, the cab dropped me off in front of the clubhouse. As I walked in, my mind was racing with different thoughts.
“Can I get the CCTV footage from here?” I asked one of the female receptionists. “Is there a problem?” she replied.
“Yeah,” I nodded. I explained what happened that night, and she led me to the CCTV room.
“Here are the clips from that day,” the CCTV guy said, pointing to the screen.
As I watched, I saw myself dancing and shaking my head at my own foolishness, blaming Keren for getting me drunk.
Suddenly, I noticed a guy trying to force himself on me. “That’s him!” I shouted, pointing at the hefty guy, but as the video continued, someone pulled him away from me.
“That’s the guy,” one of the waitresses in the room said, and as I looked closer, my heart dropped. No way! Jayden Smith? Was he really at the clubhouse?
“He’s the one who took you home,” the waitress confirmed. “No, he took me to a hotel,” my heart pounded.
“I can’t believe this,” I said, snapping a picture of Jayden from the footage. I fought back tears that threatened to fall, thanked the CCTV guy and the receptionist, and then hurried out of the clubhouse.
Jayden cannot be the one who impregnated me.
Tears streamed down my face as I strode to the hotel.
This was the last option I had to confirm if all these were true.
“Good day, ma'am. Can I have a moment?” I asked one of the receptionists as I entered the hallway where they were all seated by their desks.
“Good day, ma'am. How can I assist you?” The blonde receptionist replied, her eyes glued to her laptop.
“Can you help me identify this man?” I showed her the photo. “That's Mr. Jayden Smith,” she said.
“Yes, that's him,” I replied. “Could you check if he booked a room here about a week ago?”
She nodded slightly as she scrolled through her laptop before she said, “Yes, on the 15th, he came in at nig
ht with a drunk woman.” Her words pierced through me like a knife.
No! This is not true. Right there and then, I wish the ground would open up and swallow me.
