A car screeched to a halt just inches from Elizabeth, sparks nearly flying off the road.
Startled by the piercing sound, Elizabeth froze in place, her heart still racing as the car reversed slowly toward her.
The window rolled down, revealing a man's smooth forehead. His eyes lit up as he glanced her way, and a faint dimple appeared on his cheek.
"Elizabeth! It really is you!"
