Chapter 1

2101 Words
Seven years later “Silver Star! Silver Star!” The roar of the crowd echoes off every inch of the arena, even all the way in the back room. My brothers and I are stationed all the way in the back dressing room preparing for the concert. This will be our final concert for the year, afterward it's back home taking care of the pack. I look over from where I’m standing in the direction of the twins.  “Are the preparations done for the finale?” My question is answered by the devious smile that covers both of the twins faces.  “All the mechanics are all set,”  answered Diesel. “Explosives are all set,” Blaze answered back. The twins are always in charge of these types of things. Blaze does the firework shows and Diesel does all the mechanic work. They trust themselves with that type of work versus anyone else. Our very first concert had one too many issues with the mechanics and lighting. It’s a miracle the audience stayed. Although the internet was blowing up with videos of the issues and lots of mockery. After that incident we put the twins in charge of the preperations.  We all turned our heads when we heard the door open. “Alright kids on your feet, it’s showtime.” Mom stood there in all her rocker mom glory looking at us. “You do realize we aren’t kids anymore mom.” Brayden got to his feet smiling in her direction. She gave him a mocking glare. “You are all still my kids, whether you’re in diapers or not.” “Don’t forget she will put a diaper on you to prove it” I laughed. That woman seriously will put us in diapers to prove her claim. Just one look at our living room wall will tell you. There is a large number of pictures showing us in diapers all throughout the years, which is why we never invite anyone over anymore. No one comments back while we all gather in a circle. “Now I don’t need to remind you that this is your last concert of the year. Make sure you give the audience a good show. Make them beg for more.” Mom says with wicked smirks that I’m sure the twins inherited from her.  We each put a hand out that all have a matching tattoo of a silver moon and star mixed together. A way of reminding us who we are and where we came from.  “May the moon and stars shine us in their light.” We all chant together.  “Showtimes boys.” The screams of the crowd grew louder in our ears the closer we got towards the stage. When the boys arrived on stage, I nearly went deaf from all the screams from the female audience. I went further back stage to get situated on a separate platform to bring me up on stage. The boys start playing the intro to our first song. Taking in a deep breath, I start singing the intro as the platform rises.  All throughout the concert, we had performed with such high energy that you would think impossible. When it came time for our final song of the night, a whole new scene came into play. Diesel had set up a trick where the platforms we were on would rise up and down like a carousel. Blaze had a complete new light show to go along with the music, with multiple pyrotechnics that were in sync with the beat. Some would think it would be too much, but those two knew how to space out each display. I could see the surprise and excitement on the crowd’s faces, they were enthralled by the performance. When the concert came to the end, the roar and cheers of the crowd were still going strong. We all headed back to the dressing room to freshen up for the after party. A few fans had won VIP passes to attend a private party with us after the concert. Our night was far from being over. As soon as we got back to the room, I went to grab my phone to call Nate. It was a routine of ours. I would call after each concert to check in and give him any updates. “Hey beautiful, how did the concert go?” Nate’s usual chipper voice came through the phone. “We totally rocked and blew them all away. The twins really gave them a show at the end.” I smiled even though he couldn’t see it. He laughed at my last comment. Nate was no stranger to what the twins can do, he came to several concerts to witness their handy work. “Well I’m glad the concert went great. Everyone is waiting for y'all to return. They want all the details.” “Oh the pack will have all the details. You know the twins enjoy their story time with everyone.” Blaze glared in my direction. “For your information young lady, the pack enjoys our story time. With you being too busy playing Luna and Brayden helping mom at the store.”  I couldn’t hold back my laughter. He gets so defensive about his story time. “Can’t wait for you to get home. I certainly need you with me Keira.” Nate said after I stopped laughing. “We’ll be back on the bus first thing in the morning, so it should be late afternoon by the time we return.” “Be careful on the way back. Love you Keira.” “Love you to Nate.” I tell him right before hanging up. Right as I set my phone down, I have a towel thrown at my face. “Enough mushy talk. Get your sweaty ass freshen up for the after party. I don’t want to be associated with a smelly sister.” Brayden said while changing his shirt and spraying body spray. My clever response was the classic act of sticking my tongue out, which they all had a field day about. I grabbed a new outfit consisting of a pair of short shorts, a long one shoulder tank top with multiple chains around the waist, and a pair of knee high heel boots that lace up in the front. After a quick refreshing change in the bathroom and a touch up on my makeup and hair, it was time to party. The party took place at a local club about 20 minutes from the arena. The exterior of the club wasn’t really flashy or fancy except for the neon sign above the doorway. We entered through the front to make an appearance to the crowd and reporters. This is to show face to the fans who couldn’t attend the VIP party and to give publicity to the club. It’s a move that some clubs will request celebrities to help bring attention to their business. A couple of autographs were signed and some personal selfies. We always take the pictures ourselves so as to control how the picture looks and ensure some space between. In a huge crowd like this, fans can go crazy and could cause harm to the celebrity if a proper distance is not followed. Of course we do pictures with fans in closer contact, but only in a more controlled crowd environment like meet and greets. Once inside the club, my nose was hit by the smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke. There was a bar on each side of the club, with a huge ass dance floor and DJ booth towards the back of the dance floor. Mom led us upstairs to the VIP area that was already full of people. It had a black and red color theme with leather sofas and a full bar.     We all take a seat on the two sofas in a corner towards the back. Some of the team members from the record company were also present when we sat down. “You four did a great job out there. Here’s to another successful tour.” Steve, the head of the record company, complimented while flagging a cocktail waitress over. “Thanks Steve, we couldn’t disappoint everyone after all this time.” Brayden spoke before asking for a glass of straight whisky. The twins ordered beer by the pitcher, while I ordered rum mixed with Sprite. When the waitress came back with the drinks we all toasted to another successful tour. It was at that time that the VIP group showed up. From the looks of them I would say it was a bachelorette group consisting of four girls and one guy; all human. Steve took that moment to get up and usher the group towards us before leaving. We all stood up in unison to greet the group, with the twins grabbing and kissing each of the girls hand in greeting. All the girls giggled and blushed while the guy just stood back and playfully rolled his eyes.  “Thanks for coming out and partying with us guys. I see some congratulations are in order.” I smiled gesturing to the bridal pins they each had. “Thank you. The wedding is in two days.” The one who I assumed is the bride grinned in happiness. It makes me happy to see a soon-to-be bride glowing with excitement for her big day. Just two souls meeting and falling in love.  “Well then let’s toast to the future bride.” Blaze raised up his glass. We all followed suit and toasted to the girl’s upcoming wedding. Sitting back down, we each took a seat next to a member of the group. I was sitting in between Linda, the future bride, and Tim, the groom! The rest of the girls each took a seat next to my brothers. My less talkative brother Brayden just happened to be seated next to the most talkative girl out of the whole group. Linda told us that she met Tim in their first year of college and their first date was at a Silver Star concert. Our conversation then shifted to how the girls met as kids in dance class. They were on their school dance team throughout high school and college. It was after that conversation that I decided to stand up. “Well since you girls like to dance, I say we take this party to the dance floor.” If there is one thing I love outside of singing, that is dancing. Dancing just makes you feel free and express yourself without speaking.  With an excited squeal, the girls all stood up and we practically ran to the dance floor. Tim followed behind at the same pace as my brothers. As soon as we reached the floor, the music had switched over to the song “Mambo” by Nikki Vianna.  Brayden held his hand out to me leading me to the center of the dance floor. Once we made it to the center, the crowd moved giving us more room. It was at that moment that the song picked up and we started moving to the music. Believe it or not, the guys know how to dance. Being around music all the time we all learned how to play and move with the rhythm. Also mom showed us some moves so we wouldn’t embarrass ourselves. I noticed from the corner of my eyes that Linda and Tim were dancing together, while the twins were showing off their moves to the girls.  “I’m glad to see you’re having fun little sister.” Brayden whispered into my ear after he twirled me around. I looked up at him grinning. “Of course I am. I’m with my three favorite guys in the whole world. Plus this group is very entertaining.” Brayden gave a little laugh while glancing over to where the group were dancing. “That one girl certainly can talk someone ear off. Thankfully the conversation was entertaining.” “You certainly are not the most social of the four of us for sure big brother.” I grinned teasing him. He answered with a low growl. “Careful sister. Don’t make me embarrass you in front of all these people.” I couldn’t help but laugh at his threat. “That will be two of us then brother.”  We all continued to dance to every song the DJ played. I would switch between dancing with the guy and the girls. After the fifth song though the girls wanted to rest and have a drink. I forget that humans don’t have the same endurance as us wolves. When we got back up to our seating area, we ordered a round of drinks and continued talking about random topics. This lasted for a good few hours. Mom had even joined our group during the last hour, before she announced that it was time for us to leave. We all said our goodbyes and congratulated the happy couple again.  After all that went on tonight between the concert and the after party, my body was ready for a hot shower and a comfy bed to curl into. Tomorrow we will be back on the road home, and I couldn’t wait.
