Chapter 15 – Selene’s POV

1178 Words
The bullying Grayson subjected me to was no more innocent than what Julian and Ethan did, though of the three of them, he was usually the one who thought twice before getting his hands dirty. Of course… except for that one time in high school, when he terrorized one of my suitors for supposedly taking something that belonged to him. “Why are you looking at me like that?” the boy stammered, cornered against the lockers. “For taking something that’s mine,” Grayson replied, with a calm that was far more frightening than a shout. “And I don’t like repeating warnings.” He didn’t need to say anything else. The blow came afterward—sharp, decisively shielded by an excuse so absurd that no one dared question it. I never knew what it was he had supposedly taken, and even though it all seemed ridiculous now, after discovering Julian’s lie and Nathan’s indifference, I had no patience left to deal with him. “Julian isn’t here,” I said as he turned to look at me. “Come back in the morning.” My tone was so flat it drew a half-smile from him. “I didn’t come to see Julian.” I sighed, exhausted. “Then leave. I don’t want to talk to you.” The staff, as discreet as ever, withdrew in silence, leaving us alone. The air shifted the moment they were gone. “And what’s with the mood?” Grayson asked. “You don’t usually greet people like this.” I looked at him without patience. “Why pretend? I know Julian tells everything to Ethan and to you. And I also know about the little joke he played on me… just to get me into bed. It must have been very funny for all of you. Poor Selene, stuck in a shelter with her baby. Let’s degrade her a little more.” Grayson fell silent. “Oh, please,” I added, my tone sharp. “As if you hadn’t already heard it from him.” “It’s not the way you think,” he said at last. “Things aren’t like that” “You were right—I’m not in the mood,” I replied. “It was a difficult day. Please, go.” Then he stepped closer. Not hurriedly, not arrogantly. With a familiarity that, instead of unsettling me, comforted me. Confused by the sensation, I took a step back. He advanced, boxed me in with his arms, and held my gaze. “We may have been idiots in the past,” he said quietly, “but I assure you that taking you to bed was not one of Julian’s jokes— much less something meant to demean you.” I scoffed, defiant. “Oh, really? Then explain why he lied to me about Nathan.” Greyson didn’t let go of me. “Why do you still refuse to see it?” he asked calmly. “Why won’t you understand?” “See what? Understand what?” He didn’t give me time to say anything else. Grayson kissed me. It wasn’t like any of Julian’s kisses. Dominant—but it shared that same possessive spark, that restrained hunger I recognized all too well. When he pulled away, I raised my hand, a second away from slapping him. He caught it. Not violently. Not out of control. Just firm. “You want it as much as I do,” he murmured. “And you know he’s willing to share.” I didn’t hear anything after that. The world narrowed to the contact between us: the way his right hand gripped my waist with a firmness that betrayed desire at the same time his left squeezed my ass. The solid pressure of his body responding to mine, the unsettling certainty that I wasn’t losing control… I was claiming it means a lot. I lifted my dress just slightly, a slow, deliberate gesture. Grayson understood without words. He stripped away what was unnecessary with almost reverent care, though his hold remained possessive, as if he needed to remind himself—and me—how much he wanted me. I settled over him once he had freed himself from his pants and underwear. I felt his immediate, intense response as his hardness slid into my wet core. He had a length as large as Julian’s, but slightly thicker at the tip, brushing my inner walls in a seductive way. I guided him without haste, setting the rhythm from the very first movement. He held my waist, anchoring me, while my body took him completely, drawing a sigh from me that I couldn’t contain. There were no orders; none were needed. Even though I set the pace, his possession was evident in every adjustment of his hands, in the way he followed my movements with hungry focus. He let himself be guided, yes—but his desire was a constant pulse beneath my skin, a deep response that sustained me as I decided how far to take us. “I want you to use me,” he murmured, his voice breaking. “So you can feel good, so you can forgive us and leave the past behind. We have always wanted to belong to you.” Lost in the tide of sensation, I didn’t hesitate to take his word. I moved slowly at first, provocatively, then with an urgency that swept us both away. His breathing turned ragged—so did mine—until the world shattered. When it was over, the air felt heavy. Reality returned abruptly. “Selene…” My name was enough to make me realize what I had done. I pulled away immediately, climbing off him as if his touch burned. I couldn’t believe what had happened—what I had allowed. Grayson was still without his pants when I turned and left without looking back, heading for my bedroom. In the foyer, Julian had just walked in. “Is everything okay?” he asked, confused. I didn’t dare look at him. I passed by without answering, my heart racing. I don’t know how many minutes passed afterward—only that my steps carried me to the guest bathroom, afraid of waking Theo. The reflection staring back at me was a mess. Smeared makeup, lips too flushed, hair disheveled in a way that left no room for doubt. What I had just done with Grayson was obvious. I braced myself against the sink, closed my eyes… and then I felt it: the warm trace sliding down my thighs, a silent mark of my recklessness. “How could I be so stupid?” I scolded myself inwardly, furious. I hadn’t thought about anything. Not consequences. Not protection. Only the impulse—fueled by my anger at Julian. I pulled myself together as best I could, took a deep breath, and left the bathroom. They were both there, waiting. Neither of them said a word, but their looks were enough to make one thing clear: the night was only just beginning.
