His Surprise Daughter

Isabelle’s P.O.V

As I walk upstairs I feel my heart break. It not only breaks for me but for my daughter. I know he was with Chloe before me but it doesn’t make my heart hurt any less.

When I asked him if he was going to get a DNA test and he immediately said no I felt tears in my eyes. He never took my word for Leilani being his he had to have a DNA test. This made me feel like I was less to him and Chloe was more.

I get in the shower and let everything out. I cry for myself and I cry for my daughter. I cry because I let myself fall for Axel again. I cry because I know if there is a time that Axel has to choose between us and Chloe, he will choose Chloe.

After I get myself together I get out of the shower and pack. Once I’m done packing I knock on Axel’s door.

“ come in.” Axel says

“ No, it’s okay. I just wanted you to know I’m ready to go.”

“ okay. I’ll be right out.”

On the way to the airport we ride in silence. I put my AirPods in and start listening to music. All the way home from Hawaii we don’t speak to each other.

By the time we arrive home I’m just ready to be alone with my daughter.

“ Mom is in their with Leilani. I’m going to go talk to Chloe about everything. I’ll be home when I’m done.”

I smile and nod my head. When I unlock the front door and open it I hear Leilani’s laugh coming from the family room.

I follow her laughter until I come face to face with my daughter.

“ Hi Princess.”

“ mommy.” She runs to me and I swoop her up into my arms. I bury my head into her hair and smell it. I have missed Leilani so much. All the emotion of today caught up to me and a few tears run down my face.

“ Oh Belle why did you guys come back so early.” Ana ask. I set Leilani down and whip my tears away

“ oh dear. Zoe, Belle and I are going to go upstairs and talk for a minute.”

“ Yeah that’s fine I’ll make some cookies with the girls.” Zoe says

I follow Ana upstairs into Axel and I’s bedroom. “ Isabelle what happened.” I look into her eyes and she seems so genuine. I just broke down and told her everything.

“ oh Isabelle everything will be alright just have a little faith. My son is truly stupid sometimes. I know what he said about the DNA test might make you feel like you are nothing to him but I know my son and the way he looks at you says everything. And I’m letting you know right now if he won’t get a DNA test done his father will make him. But don’t let this come between you and Axel’s relationship. Do you understand me. If you love him you have to have faith that Axel will do right by you.”

During our conversation my phone rings.

“ Hello.”

“ Isabelle this is your grandma and I want you to know that grandpa has passed away. Your father doesn’t want you at his funeral but this is you grandpas last wish. His funeral is tomorrow. I’m sorry I didn’t call you sooner. You are in his will and that will be read the day after.”

“ thank you for letting me know.”

I hang up and I burst out into tears again.

“ oh honey what happened?” Ana asks

“ it’s what’s hasn’t happened that you should ask me. First the person I was trying not to love I feel in love with. Then he finds out that the girl he truly loves is pregnant. Now I get a call from my grandma saying my grandpa died and my dad doesn’t want me there. But it was my grandpas dying wish to see me and have me be at his funeral which is tomorrow.”

“ oh Belle I’m so sorry.”

“ Now I have to pack for Leilani and I to go to Texas for two days. I need to get plane tickets and a hotel booked. I feel so overwhelmed right now.”

“ Belle I need you to just breath okay. I will book your plane and your hotel while you get packed okay.”

“ Thank you.”

I go into Leilani’s room and pack her stuff first. I then go and pack my stuff in the same suitcase. I’ve never traveled with Leilani alone so I’m a little worried. I would ask Paige to go but this is last minute and I couldn’t ask her to take off work.

I go downstairs and pack Leilani some snacks for the plane. I then grab Leilani so I can wash her up . After I’m done I put her into cute pink pajamas for the plane ride. We won’t arrive into Texas until 8:00pm so we should be good on time.

Ana is driving us to the airport so I don’t have to worry about parking. I get Leilani’s stroller out of the car and Ana grabs her car seat. I sit Leilani in her stroller and I put the suitcase in the back of the stroller. I put my backpack on my back. And Ana carries the car seat.

Ana helps us checking in and tells me that I will have assistance when I get off the plane. I give her a hug goodbye and Leilani and I walk to our gate.

The plane ride was two hours and thirty minutes long. For the most part Leilani just watched her tablet the whole way there. She got a little fussy but that was because she was hungry. I gave her some puffs and she went back to watching tv.

When we arrive in Texas there is someone waiting for us. They have Leilani’s car seat and our luggage already. We go and follow her to the car parked outside. She puts Leilani’s car seat in the car then she puts our luggage and stroller up.

We get to the hotel and I see that Leilani is sleep. I get the stroller out and put her In it. Then one of the bellhop’s come out and puts our luggage and the car seat on a cart.

I check into the hotel and head up to our suite. I lay Leilani down in bed then order room service. After room service delivers dinner I wake Leilani up for her to eat.

We eat dinner then I change Leilani and I out of our clothes into some other pair of pajamas.we sit and watch TV for a while until Leilani and I are both asleep.

In the middle of the night I wake up because I think I hear something. I get up and close the door that leads to the bedroom. I turn on the lights to see Axel sitting on the couch.
