The Unknown Life

2: Truth

I moved out of the car getting inside the main door of my mom's flat. Dashed inside the lift and pressed 4. I got out of the lift ran to the end of the corridor and rang the bell of my home.

It was almost 8 pm. After a few minutes a young lady opened the door, which I guess, might be our new maid. She greeted me but as I was in a very bad mood, I just ran past her, without greeting her. She, in an angry mood smashed the door close "Bang". I went inside the living room but no one was there.

I rushed inside the bedroom, but it was locked. I knocked it and my mom opened it. Before saying anything I asked her that what was that important thing she had to say me. She just laughed and said "Relax, I'll say you everything". I thinking I was too childish and said "Ok".

I sat in the living room on the sofa, glaring at my feet, thinking about that boy, Alvin. My mom came with a tray in her hand which contained hot chocolate and caramel tarts, my favorite. I was the only child (adopted) of my parents so they loved me. I lived in a hostel as my home and school were too far from each other.

My mother sat beside me and said " Stella as you know that I am your adopted mother, I love you, but you might not know how you were adopted, at that time we were in a very bad condition. Your father was a fire brigade. Once when he was in a house all lit up by fire. He saw you, the fire flames were all around you but not touching you. I don't know how but your father felt pity on you and caught hold of you. He asked everyone who were rescued from that building if they knew you, but nobody replied.

So he brought you home and I decided that..." Being soon mixed up in the scene I said "Yeah continue..." she said " that we will adopt you, that innocence in your face could not resist us doing it. As you came in our life everything started to become good, but one day I got a dream when you were three years old. A weird blue+white light said that "You can keep her only till she is worthy of rescuening me".

I thought that it was just a dream and left it, but yesterday that same light said me "Your time is over"
