Twenty-third Chapter

Eveline's POV

It's been two days since that day when I confessed in love to Zachary. 

Nothing really changed after being a couple. We only started kissing each other, that's all. Don't think that Zachary doesn't want me, he wanted me. Every single day and night he asked me permission to do...you know, but I resisted him every single time...I feel like a selfish b***h but I just can't do this with him! And I don't think I will do this with him in near days...But even without it we are very happy and feel like a couple. But our relationship changed Zachary's brotherhood with Alexander and my relationship with...what should I call him? What we are towards each other? Alexander...

Yesterday we officially announced to everyone that we are dating. Maeve and Theo were so happy for us they said sweet, funny words and Eric was sitting with a face like 'told ya'. Riley was so pissed off that she even used her gift - pain, that's actually a really weird gift and...dangerous, especially when the person is a crazy b***h. She used to pain Zachary and let me tell you...it was not pretty to watch how your boyfriend was suffering in agony from this deadly pain, she wanted to use it on me as well but gladly Alexander stopped her and he let the guards take her away from the hall. Speaking of Alexander...he was mad, not less than Riley but didn't show it. 

/Flashback/Zachary's and Eveline's announcement/

Third person's POV

Everyone was sitting in the main hall, laughing and chatting. The King was very happy and excited because he waited to see the girl to whom he is very attracted. He sat there looking at the doors in impatience and then, there she goes in a small red dress with her hair bouncing on her shoulders and a genuine smile playing on her beautiful face. Alexander bit his lip and his eyes glowed with happiness but it all went away when he saw his best friend and brother hugging her from the waist and kissing her gently on the end of her lips. Alexander stood there not knowing how to react and what conclusion should he make. Then he decided to go to them and see if he and Eveline can talk in private.

He went to the couple and smiled widely at them.

"Eveline, you look beautiful as a tulip in spring. Brother." he complimented her and nodded at his brother who didn't lose his arm from Eveline's waist.

Eveline smiled while blushing and said, "Thank you, Alexander" the way she says his name, so powerful and great but yet with so much love and care. He wanted to hear her saying his name all the time and look at her precious smile. 

"Eveline, can we..um, talk?" Alexander nervously looked into her green eyes in the hope she will agree.

"Um...sure, I am listening" She looked at Zachary and back at Alexander who was standing in madness. 

Eveline and Zachary waited for him to say something but Alexander only clutched his fists and jaw, revealing narrow jawlines and then he said in bitter, looking at Zachary "In private, please" 

Eveline made an 'oh' face and wanted to answer but Zachary made it faster, "Alex, we need to announce one thing" he devilishly smiled revealing his white fangs.

"Huh?" Alexander tilted his head and furrowed his eyebrows.

"EVERYONE! PLEASE! LISTEN!" Zachary shouted looking at the massive crowd.

Eveline stood there with a genuine smile or maybe...nervous smile? And Alexander worriedly looked at his brother who continued, "Everybody knows that Evie and I shared close friendship...it was kind of not a friendship but we didn't know that. But yesterday I couldn't even know that our friendship will become a passionate relationship and we will be a couple for God's sake!"  Zachary yelled last words and everyone screamed in happiness and whistled. Eveline stood there feeling very awkward for such an announcement but she lost this awkwardness when her friends came to her. 

"Damn it, girl! You are dating this bastard! I KNEW IT! I told you that you are perfect for each other! Didn't I?" excited Maeve came to her friend and kissed all of her face. 

"Thank you, bestie" Eveline hugged Maeve and let go of her when Theo tickled Eveline saying "Princess! You made it! Sweetie, I am so happy for you! You are like a sister to me so if this bastard gonna make you mad, you know who can kick his wolfy ass" Theo smirked and hugged Eveline like a protective brother would do.

"I will keep that in mind, Theodor" She laughed and found herself locking with green-blue eyes...his eyes.

Alexander looked at her in pain and misunderstanding. He didn't move his face nor his body, he just stood there like a statue and looked at her. Her face showed pity and it was like she said 'I am so sorry' with her eyes but he didn't even flinch. She looked away because of the loud scream. It was Zachary and Riley.

"YOU FREAKING ASSHOLE! HOW COULD YOU BETRAY ME! I WAS FREAKING IN LOVE WITH YOU!  BUT YOU RATHER CHOOSE THAT VULNERABLE HUMAN!" Riley screamed and with every word, Zachary's pain was getting worse and worse. When she saw Eveline she stopped torturing Zachary and came closer to Eveline.

"You b***h! You took away my boyfriend after my caution! You will regret everything that you've done" And with these words her eyes started slowly turn red. Eveline waited for the agony but in that second she saw a figure came between her and Riley. It was none other than Alexander.

"Get the hell out of my way, asshole!" Riley screamed at her brother but he didn't move. Everyone's eyes were on the siblings. This very similar faces brother and sister. Riley's eyes were full of anger and power but then it all faded away when she saw her brother's black eyes. His face was like a demon's and his voice was harsh and low.

"You will get the hell out of here and will never ever use your gift on anyone in the Academy. Did you understand?!" He clutched his fists and she whimpered.

"Y-yes..." the only thing she could say.

"Guards! Take her away from here" Alexander called the guards and they took Riley by the elbows and made their way to the exit. Riley gave one glare to everyone and her figure was no longer in the sight.

Alexander closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened, his eyes were back as normal and he stopped clutching his fists because he felt blood on the palms. He made a cold face and went towards the exit saying only, "You are lucky, Zachary...be happy and...Goodbye" 

   No one said anything for a couple of seconds but after everyone began celebrating the new couple as it was all that mattered. But one soul knew how she hurt one to be with another one. And it was killing her.
