Eighteenth Chapter

Alexander's POV 

The only thing I saw was black space with a small light in the end. I was running to that light, I felt how my breath was shaking and I was worried about something but I didn't know about what...and then I fell. I fell on my stomach hitting my right cheek and I felt someone's presence...someone's touch on my hand.

Now my vision turned into a ceiling... my room's ceiling. My eyes were sore, so I barely opened them, I looked on my right side to see who was holding my hand and who woke me up from this torturous dream.

I looked and saw the person whom I thought never will see again. Mirena.

My throat was dry as Sahara desert but I still managed to say her bitter name that gave me the most painful memories.

"Mirena..." I said with my wheezy voice. 

And the last thing I saw before blacking out is her devilish smile.

Eveline's POV

After learning jiu-jitsu with Eric and Zachary I went to my room to take shower and read a book but, I couldn't relax. And that's was very strange to me because before I could relax by reading a book but now I feel so...uncontrolled. I hear voices in my head and I see her...I see a curled black-haired girl with an evil smile and bright orange eyes. I see her in the mirror sometimes and in my dreams or should I say nightmares. That's not good and I really don't like it...

Mirena is getting stronger and I am weaker. I need to practice more but this whole situation is getting on my nerves and I want to cry. I still can't get over what Rosie said. I need to find questions but I don't know where?

Wait!....

I remember Rosie said something about the Royal family and I had a vision about the Royal family, maybe it's a sign? I should find answers in the library! But I can't go alone, I need someone who would explain to me some staff and someone who knows the Royal family...we all know this guy, aren't we?

"Please!" I made my best puppy eyes.

"Nah," he said simply.

"Why not?!" I exclaimed furrowing my eyebrows.

"Eveline, sweetcheeks, what a hell did you lost in that library?" he asked crossing his arms on his chest.

"Eric, I need to find out more about beasts history and myself..." I sadly looked on the ground.

I heard Eric's groan and then he went forward, "Why me? Why not your boyfriend or Theo?" 

"What boyfriend? I have a boyfriend? didn't know" I laughed.

"Oh dumby, I am talking about Zach" 

I frowned, "He is not my boyfriend Eric!" 

"Well for me you both are perfect for each other" he smirked not even looking at me.

I rolled my eyes saying, "Whatever, I don't know...It's just...I don't feel comfortable around him, especially asking him about the tragic event of his brother...I will pass" I said grimacing.

"What about Damaris siblings?" he asked raising his eyebrow at me.

"Maeve tutoring with Mr. Lorenzo and Theo is busy with a random chick, plus you are the smartest student," I said smiling, "Any other questions?" 

He frowned shaking his head, "Okay, sweetcheeks, I am gonna tell you everything, what I know" 

We entered the big library, it was very freaking big! I don't know how many books can be here.

"I read most of the book here," Eric said slipping to one of the books section.

"You WHAT?" I widened my eyes in shock.

"Yeah, I had plenty of time after my father's death," he said casually, his voice was cold...I felt pity for him.

I didn't answer him, I just went between the shelves and slipped with my eyes through them.

"History of Phoneix shifters, History of Wolf shifters...wow" I looked at Eric who was reading one of the books.

"You read everything?" I asked him.

"Yup" he answered and I saw how he was searching for something. God, he read everything, s**t that's a lot! HE left me speechless.

"So?" he closed the book and looked at me with a serious expression.

"Yeah?" I raised my eyebrow.

He rolled his eyes and said, "Ask me any question, I will answer" he said and elegantly sat in the armchair, putting his left leg on the other.

"Um...Tell me about beast powers, how can I understand that I have it?" I asked Eric.

He locked his hands and said clearing his throat, "Powers come through family blood, for example, let's take Zach, he has teleportation powers as his grandfather and his aunt has teleportation powers as well, but sometimes shifter can have different power but that happens only when shifter mix blood with human" 

"Wow, that's fantastic, I mean...this the whole thing with powers," I said amazed.

"Oh, I forgot, you grew in a mundane family," he said with some pity. 

"What does that suppose to mean?" I asked putting my hands on hips.

"Sweetcheeks, no offense but it will be very challenging to explore your powers" he casually said.

He is right...I never thought about this...my parents found me in the middle of the forest and nobody even has an idea who my parents and relatives are.

"Hey, don't lose hope, sweetcheeks, you will be okay, just you know...meditate, it will help you focus on your inside energy," he said soothing my shoulder.

When I looked up at him I got blinded by something. I don't know what happened but all turned black and I couldn't feel my body anymore.

I was in dark and paralyzed for about thirty seconds until I finally saw shocked and terrified Eric's face.

"Wh-what...oh my...what happened!?" I asked in complete shock and fear.

He looked at me very cautiously and said, "Things going bad...Eveline, we need to go to Zach, NOW!" he furiously stood up and drag me out of the library.

"Wh-what happened, Eric? Answer me for god's sake!" I asked him feeling my blood starting to boil inside my veins.

"Shut up! It's important! You don't know what I saw right now! Tell me, did you saw someone in your reflection?" he asked me, his voice was full of fear and worry.

"H-how do you know? What you saw?...Eric...Eric!" I asked him feeling how my body getting paralyzed and my hands tremble, it's good that we already came to Zachary.

Eric stormed into his room dragging me behind him. When we entered Zachary was standing near the window talking with Theo and Maeve, they looked at us worriedly and questionably.

"What's wrong?" asked Zachary who came closer to us.

"Is everything's fine?" asked worried Maeve.

"No, not everything is fine" answered nervous Eric. He sat on the sofa rubbing his face with his palms.

"Dude, come on, spit it out!" Theo exclaimed impatiently.

"Eve, what happened?" Maeve whispered leaning closer to me.

"I-I don't know..." I said the truth looking on the ground. She recoiled looking at me with eyes full of concern.

"Wh-what do you mean?" she asked looking back at Eric who was now speaking.

"We were sitting in the library, I was teaching Eveline with this shifter staff, and then when Eveline looked up her eyes were bright orange and face was a hundred percent like Mirena's...I couldn't believe my eyes but it was her...Mirena takes control over Eve" Eric nervously ruffled his hair looking at Zachary.

"Are you serious right now?" Theo asked, very sick with this all.

"Am I look like I am joking?!" Eric screamed at him while Zachary was looking at one spot all the time.

"Say something!" Eric shouted at Zachary and then he answered, "What happened after?" 

"She started laughing...laughing like that day, Zach," Eric said seriously and Zachary's expression changed dramatically, his face was like he saw a ghost.

"She said, 'Alex gonna be mine and this body too, I and Alex will be together like we always wanted, and if you or your friends gonna be on my way, I will kill every single one of you' and then Eveline came back," Eric said rubbing his face.

We all were shaking when he was saying this...I can't believe that it was me and this person who said this is inside of me.

"She wants Alex back" Zachary whispered.

"Oh my god..." Maeve closed her mouth from gasping.

"s**t" Theo cursed biting his lips.

"We need to wake Alex up," Zachary said looking directly at me.

"And you! You will wake him up" when he said this everyone's eyes were on me and Zachary said, "You are the only one who can save him"
