Sixteenth Chapter

Eveline's POV

I can't get over what said Alexander to me.

 It's already 20:37 and I am still not ready for a date with Dominic...shit. 

Maybe I should have declined it...No! Eveline, you will get insane if you will sit in your damn bedroom. 

I stood up from my bed and went into the closet room to choose what to wear. 

"No...this is ugly...Nah.....this is too open...nope...argh!" Probably I need a little help...

"Thank you for coming!" I said to Maeve.

"Of course! don't even thank me! I love choosing outfits. By the way, are you going on a date with Zach?" she smiled looking at me...

"Umm, you know, well, no..." I said and looked away feeling awkward.

And then, silence. I looked at Maeve who stopped picking outfits and was staring at me.

"And who is this lucky one?" she asked sitting beside me.

"I doubt you know him" 

She scoffed, "I know everyone in this freaking Academy, tell me"

I smiled, "Dominic, he came before me and he is a late-bloomer like me" by the way! Doctor Vennie said that late-bloomers were only Dragon shifters...and what about Dominic?

"Dominic...Dominic, hmph" she narrowed her eyes looking nowhere, "Did he say his last name?" she asked me.

"No" I answered in a sec.

"Dumby, ask him tonight" she chuckled. "Okay, I stopped on this short pink skirt and simple white tee with leather jacket" she put a devilish smile.

"a leather jacket? Am I a South-side serpent to wear leather?" I asked laughing.

"Oh suit yourself! Leather is popular, plus I have really hard suspicion that this Dominic likes leather" she gave me funny look.

"Alright, Maeve" I laughed and wore what she picked.

It's already nine...I am nervous...

"You look stunning, babe," said Maeve and pushed me outside the door.

"Hey!" I shouted at her.

"Good luck! Tell me everything tomorrow!" with these words she closed the door and I scoffed. And then I realized that Dominic was standing in front of me in...what a coincidence! In a leather jacket and white tee!

We both looked at each other in confusion.

"You look badass," he said licking his lower lip, chuckling.

"You look...like Jughead from Riverdale" I raised an eyebrow. He bit his lip and laughed.

"I tried," he said in a sarcastic tone, "Shall we?" he offered me his hand and we walk outside.

Dominic took me outside on the other side of the Academy. There was no one. It was creepy and romantic at the same time.

"People rarely come here. It's my spot, I spend most of my time here," he said, sitting near a broken beast statue.

"How you found this place?" I asked him while taking a seat near him.

"I seek for an adventure" he replied with a smirk and I rolled my eyes.

"Did you find out what shifter you are?" I asked him.

"Um..." he hesitated for a moment and then answered.

"Yeah, um, yeah, I am a phoenix shifter," he said rubbing the back of his neck.

"Really? That's really cool! And how do you feel?" 

"Well...completed?" he said unsurely.

"Yes...this is the right feeling..."

"And what about you?" he asked moving closer to me.

"Nah...I am not sure if I am even a shifter" I said in frustration.

"Don't think about this, maybe you are a dragon shifter?" he smiled at me.

"Of course not! Only royals are dragon shifters" I pointed out.

"who knows...everything might happen" what that supposed to mean???

"So Dominic, where did you came from?" I asked lying on the ground.

"I am from...far away" he smiled.

"hmph, okay, what's your last name? by the way, mine is Campbell" If he is not feeling comfortable to tell me, I am not gonna insist. Sometimes you don't wanna open up to new people.

"Eveline Campbell? huh, my name is Dominic Raphael Enerkin" he said in a very husky voice.

"Wow, sounds like someone's aristocratic name" I looked at the dark sky, feeling his eyes all over my body.

"Yeah" he whispered.

we sat like this, in silence, feeling comfortable in each other's company but I felt weird...something was about him and I wanted to know what's that.

"You are very beautiful Eveline," he said after a long silence making me shiver from his voice.

"um, uh, wh-what?" I looked at him dumbfoundedly, and I felt how my cheeks burned.

"I. Said. You. Are. Beautiful." After every word, he leaned closer and closer to me. I kept silent until I felt his hot breath on my bare neck. I stiffened and waited for his upcoming actions.

"I want you...and I always get what I want" he demanded and then began kissing my neck coming closer to my cheekbone, and then he kissed my lips aggressively but yet with such passion. I liked it but it felt so...not right. I felt like I was betraying someone...and I think I kinda know whom.

"W-wait...stop it, Dominic" I softly pushed him away interrupting the kiss. He annoyingly raised his eyebrows at me saying, "What a heck is wrong? I thought you liked it, no?" 

I made some space between us and then said, "It happened too fast...we have time, I want to know you better" I said, looking back at the dark sky.

he chuckled, "As you like, sweetheart, as you like" he whispered.

After sitting and listening to Dominic's stories I found myself very interested in him. Maybe I should give him a chance. He told me about his friendship with people, how he can react in different situations, plus he told me some stuff about his grand-grand father, he said that he was a hunter and was a great person. He said that he was killing beasts at that time. And it was like he was telling about himself, not about his great granddad.

I also said some stories from my life. I also mentioned that I am adopted, but when I said this he didn't even react at this...it was like he knew it. Weird.

Dominic took me to my room and we both wished happy dreams to each other.

After I stripped my clothes till underwear and hopped under the sheets of my warm bed and soon I was already seeing perfect scenarios of my life.
