Second Chapter

Eveline's POV

Well, here I am, on my way to the Beast Academy. Now, I am in the limo, eating strawberries in dark chocolate...yeah...I couldn't resist them, not a bad way to start being a beast.

Oh, we arrived. I understood this by seeing a huge golden gate and...Oh, my freaking...this is the most amazing architecture I've ever seen! I saw a big castle from stone (probably very old, cause stones eroded) with the same flags as on the limo, on every roof-peak. Also, there was a greeny, beautiful garden with every flower species and a big fountain with weird animals sculptures in the middle before the entrance.

"Ms. Campbell, please" the driver opened my car door and offered his hand, "Thank you, but please call me Eveline, plus, don't joke around," I took his hand and smiled at him, while he only cleared his throat. Next, what I saw were two guards who were standing on each side of a man that stayed there as a greek-God statue. The man was very tall and his body was bulk enough cause, the white shirt that he was wearing was tightly fitting him, showing off all of his muscles. He had unusual heterochromia, one eye was blue colored and the other was green or it looked like green but maybe it's hazel. He had auburn hair but in the sun it seemed like he had red hair and his face was very serious but with no anger, it was a more sort of authoritative expression. His skin was white and clear unlike most men in this town. He had a narrow chin and cheekbones but he didn't have those lines on his cheeks.

When I realized how long I was staring at him, my eyes met his, I felt like I was staring into them for a couple of hours but it was only a few seconds.

"Welcome," he said in a deep, soft voice, he bowed slightly and I smiled, "It is a huge pleasure to be here," I tried to switch on my formal tone but it was so damn hard for me, last time I used a formal tone was ten years ago when I tried to play a role of Queen of Scots in my school.

"My name is Alexander, I am the king of all beasts," he grinned, showing his aesthetically, perfect crooked teeth. He raised his eyebrow, waiting for my response, "Oh! Um...a king, pretty impressive, what should I say?" when I spit this out, every single pair of eyes were on me.

I think I will get expelled after this...

He chuckled and scratched the back of his neck, "Well, first of all, maybe you can show some respect to your king," narrowing his eyes a little bit he answered.

"Well, I already said, it is pleasure to be here" honestly, I think I am acting defensively...you can't blame me! I never met a king in my life!

"Okay, I will forgive you this time for your rudeness, because you are new here and probably never met a king," he said with an evil smirk playing on his face, oh, damn, he has such an attractive smirk...

"Anyways, Maeve gonna show you around, but don't worry we will meet again, I promise." I think he felt my aura or something like that because he was acting very confident and I felt sort of embarrassed near him, he checked me last time from toes to head and passed me his signature grin, hiding behind these stone walls.

What was that? Like, I just felt so attracted to him and not only for his handsomeness but for no reason! I just was really affected by him.

Thinking about what just happened, I didn't see how someone just jumped in front of me.

"Hey! I am Maeve! You are Eveline, the new girl here, right? I am so happy to finally meet you!" I saw a bubbly, hazelnut-haired girl with very astonishing brown eyes, she was in a skirt which had a fine length and in a white blouse with a yellow-blue tie around it. "It's nice to meet you too, Maeve" I smiled and she just giggled, "O-o-okay, I need to show you everything before the class, let's go!" she took me by the elbow, and before I could even react we entered into the castle.

"Wow," I exhaled, "Yeah, this castle is standing since 1864th when the first King of beasts took commitment to rule his people," she said with so much amusement and pride that made me shiver.

"Cool," I started to look around, the walls were from wood and stone, and there weren't any chandeliers, only torches like from the middle ages, probably they left some vintage ideas. "Come on, I will show you, where my shifters live,"

Wait, what?

"What do you mean by 'my shifters'?" I asked very dumbfoundedly, "Oh, yeah, so, there is a special type of shifters, like, bear shifters, lion, wolf, phoenix, and dragon," she said like it was not a big deal, "Wow, is there any other shifters?"

"There is but we don't have them much, I told only the most major ones" she stated.

"Alright..." I whispered.

"Here we are! Now we are on the bear shifters wing," she said excitedly,

"So, it means that you are a bear shifter?" I asked can't proceed with the information,

"That's right!" she said it with pride,

"That's cool," I said awkwardly,

"Yes, we have the coolest game room from all shifters," she smirked,

"How do you recognize who is which type of shifter?" I asked very curiously,

"Well, we can sense each other's aura, it's like a family bond" she stated. Maybe she can feel my aura and finally, I will find out who I am? "Maeve, can you sense my aura?" I grabbed her hand and made the best puppy eyes, "Um...sure, but if you are from other shifters I wouldn't be able to recognize you, only the same shifters can sense each other even though after the shifting but still we can feel the aura, even small amount of her."

She took my hands and closed her eyes...She was furrowing her eyebrows and in that second she gasped, "Wow!" she exhaled looking into my eyes, "You have such a strong aura! I've never felt this kind of aura before, for a moment I thought...Nevermind.." she laughed making the situation more comfortable.

"Well, I can assure you that you are not a bear shifter" she made a sad face but it faded away when she saw someone behind my back, "THEO!!" she screamed and run towards the guy, he hugged her and kissed her forehead, "Look, this is Eveline, Eveline this is Theo aka my little brother," she hugged him even more, "Nice to meet you, Eveline," he said shaking my hand, "I can tell the same," I smiled. Theo was a little bit shorter than Alexander but he was much bulkier than him and he had brown curly hair with the same brown eyes as his sister.

"So, you are new here, right?" he lifted his head, "Yeah, new shifter" I chuckled lowering my eyes, "What shifter you are?" he asked in that second. Oh damn, I wish to know myself. "Honestly, I am curious as well" I answered him, and then Maeve stood beside me and started to hug me, "Oh, Dear, I know it sucks to not know who you are but don't worry you will find out soon, I am sure!" she hugged me tighter so that I couldn't even breathe, "Ma...Maeve...you..you are choking me"

"Oh, my bad!" she stepped away but still held my hand.

"Okay, girls, we will meet at dinner, it was a pleasure to meet you, Eveline." after saying this he walked down the hallway lazily.

"Okay, so, this is my room, every student has one roommate, my roommate is my brother, of course, because our parents always stick us up together," she said annoyed. "And other students live straight till the hallway end." she showed with her arm, "Okay, I understood" I laughed at her because she was explaining so nicely and explicitly. "Great, now let's see other wings, and then I will show you your bedroom!"

After a couple of hours, we finished our tour and Maeve showed me my room. For now, I don't have a roommate because nobody knows what shifter I am. But, my room was very comfortable and cute, it was very vintage but yet very rich and classy, it's nice to have this kind of a room all to myself.

For now, I am sitting in my room alone because we are heading to dinner and Maeve wanted to look super stylish, she said, 'Girl should always look pretty at any occasion'

Even though I brought my clothes, here I had my own closet with so many clothes and jewelry and shoes even though, most of the clothes were uniform but I didn't mind because their uniform was so badass.

That one situation when you have tons of clothes but you don't know what to wear.

I ran my fingers through some clothes, but I couldn't decide what to wear, and finally, I saw a very weightless dress, it was light blue in color and had butterfly sleeves. Then I choose some white sandals. And I put my hair into a neat high bun and took a small white purse, where was my phone and lip gloss. After some minutes I heard a knock.

"Holy beautiful! What a princess standing in front of me" we both laughed at how she complimented me even if she looked like some sort of brand model.

Chatting, we went slowly through long hallways.
