Tenth Chapter

Eveline's POV

I stood there near big oak doors. Yes, even though I promised Rosie to help Alexander, I still hesitate to enter the Academy.

I have two choices. I can live my life with parents like before, maybe even go to university. But...this life, being a beast, knowing how to fight, how to shift, and..maybe finally finding about my real parents something. I am confused, argh!!!! F**k. 

I was interrupted from my thoughts by someone. "Hey, um...are you okay?" 

I turned around to see who it was. Holy moly! It was a guy with black wavy and pretty much long hair, well he had long hair for a guy. He had icy blue eyes and he was in a leather black jacket. God, he was really good. 

"Um...yeah...Yeah-yeah I am good" I blink three times to see if he was real.

He chuckled and then said "Well, your body language is saying otherwise." he laughed checking me out.

I blushed. What?! Am I blushing? "What do you mean?" I asked putting one hand on my hip.

He rolled his eyes and looked at me from the tilted head down and smirked. "The blind can see that you are nervous" F**k

I wanted to disagree but his smirking and look just...MADE ME EVEN MORE NERVOUS! 

"Alright! Yes! I am nervous!" I furiously put my hands up.

"Well, wanna tell me why?" he asked leaning across the wall and lifting his eyebrow.

"Well..." I wanted to tell him but hesitated, phew, why am I so naive? Who is this guy?

"Wait...first tell me, who the hell are you?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows and taking a step forward to him. 

He chuckled and looked at me with a new look "Huh, you are cautious than I thought..." 

I narrowed my eyes and in two steps was already in front of him, I looked at him suspiciously. What? I don't like the way he looks. 

He licked his lips and smiled, "You are horrible at being sassy" 

WHAT? I didn't say anything I just glared at him trying to make him feel nervous...but he didn't even blink...f**k 

After a while of my glaring, he laughed and put his hand up in defense, "Okay, okay sweetheart, I can't look at you anymore you are too funny" he teased me. Oh, he so full of himself.

"Are you gonna tell me who are you?" I asked losing my temper.

"hmhm, my name is Dom, I am a shifter like you, by the way" he said smirking. Damn it! Why every boy in this freaking Academy knows how to smirk this way.

"Um...you mean your name is Dominic?" I asked putting my right hand on my hip and the other was leaning across the wall near brunette

"Whatever, just call me Dom," he said while straightening up...damn, all this time he was hunching, after straightening he became much taller than me and when he straightened, his black t-shirt lifted showing his six-pack...okay, I am gonna die right now, right here. 

Oh god, he saw me staring at him because he said, "Like what you see, sweetheart?" 

I immediately removed my eyes from his torso and answered "You wish" 

He only smiled revealing his white teeth. 

"Sweetheart, I told you who I am, so maybe you will reveal your identity to me?" he asked tilting his head to the right.

"Oh, yeah, I am Eveline, and like you know I am a shifter," I said smiling lightly.

"What shifter?" 

"Well...you know, I don't know yet...so" I awkwardly said.

"Oh, I know how it is like to not knowing what you are, actually I don't know what shifter I am still," he said trying to make me feel better...or I thought this way.

"Really? Are you new?" 

"Actually, I came two weeks before you" he pointed out.

"And you still..." he nodded not letting me finish my question.

"So, sweetheart, why are you struggling?" he asked 

Should I tell him? What if he will not understand? Or maybe he will think I am going insane? And what I should say? 

"Well...just thinking should I deal with my problems or just run away from them" I lowered my eyes.

"Uhuh...that's it?"

I looked up at him, "Well, as a whole...yes" 

He laughed. What?! Why he is laughing? What the heck is wrong with him?

"What again?" I asked frustrated.

"God, I thought you are smart" he looked at me cockily.

"What the heck is this supposed to mean?" 

"Sweetheart, you can't run away from your problems, it's impossible, trust me, I know" he leaned closer to me and I smelled his cologne...mmm...He smelled like mint and rainy days.

"so what I should do?" I asked looking into those ocean blue eyes.

My breath hitched when he leaned closer so that I could feel his breath on my neck. 

He whispered, "Deal with them." 

He was standing there looking at me and for a moment I thought he will kiss me but then he chuckled and recoiled from me.

"Well, sweetheart, deal with it," he said last time before walking away leaving me standing there all sweaty.

What a heck just happened?

I decided to listen to Dominic and went to Alexander's room.

In the hall was no one, it was very quiet, only torches were lighting.

Oh god, it felt so damn creepy. 

I walked into the other hall where Maeve's and Theo's room were. But there was no one...What the f**k? 

I entered to Maeve's bedroom, she wasn't there, then I decided to go straight to Alexander.

When I was finally there I knocked before entering. There wasn't Zachary, only Alexander lying on the bed anxious. I called for him.

"Alexander? Hey...Alexander!"

He didn't answer me. He was lying like...dead.

I checked his pulse and his heart-beat....he was breathing, oh thank god,

Where is everybody? The castle is so...dead? it's like there is only me and Alexander.

I sat near Alexander on his bed and then felt agony pain in my chest and head.

"Oh god! Ahh!!!" I fell down on the floor and began rolling all around the floor from the pain. It was a very different pain. I never ever had before something like that.

The pain didn't end, it was like an eternity, my breath wasn't stable, my eyes were sore from tears, I was crying and whimpering and asking for help...but no one answered until.

"Do you feel this pain? I feel it every freaking day!" the female voice said.

"Ah...mhm...ple-ease, please make it stop!" I whimpered shooking my head from pain. 

"Huh, people call you powerful soul, but you are not, you are weak and always will be weak," she said. 

I opened my eyes to see who is it, but there was no one in the room except anxious Alexander.

"Wh-where are y-you?" 

The voice began laughing hysterically, "You don't know who I am?" 

"Where the f**k are YOU!?" I screamed crying.

She only laughed, "In your head, E-ve-line, In your he-a-a-ad," she said, and her voice went like an echo through my mind.

"Mirena..." I closed my ears to not hear her laugh but I still heard this maniac laugh.

"Yes, Eveline, you guess right" she laughed.

"No, no, no, no, no!" I screamed like a psycho.

And the only thing I heard is her evil laugh and pain which was like hell.

"Eveline!" 

"Eveline!" 

Someone called me. What? Where? what is happening?

I opened my eyes and saw a familiar face. I hadn't a headache and the pain was gone. 

"Are you okay? Why are you lying here?" asked Theo and I looked around to see where I am. 

I was lying on the ground near oak doors. What? Am I going insane? Where is Alexander? and...This cruel laugh...

"Eveline?" I looked up at Theo who was looking very worried.

"I...I...what happened?" I asked him looking shocked. 

He helped me to stand up and answered "I don't know, one of the students saw you lying here anxious, I immediately came here to see what's wrong, how are you doing?" 

Oh god...what happened? It was all like a dream but a very realistic dream...

"Th-theo, I...I am fine...thank you" I smiled lightly to him. He hugged me tightly and said "Don't you ever do that to me again! Please be careful!" 

"I will be." 

There were students everywhere, people were chatting and laughing. I saw some familiar faces and then went to Alexander's room...

Everything was fine, I knocked on the door and heard coming footsteps.

"You are back!" he exclaimed before giving me the best bear hug.

"Yes," I said without any emotion. I still can't get over this s**t. What just happened!?

"Hey...What's wrong?" he asked me.

"I will tell you everything but I need to sit down."

"Yeah! Of course, come in!" Zachary closed the door after me and I made my way to the armchair. Oh no...It is the place where I was suffering from this pain and laugh...

I looked at this place for about three minutes before Zachary called me.

"So?"

I took a deep breath and started explaining this weird dream or...I don't know...

"And Theo woke me up," I said with shiver still running on my skin.

Zachary didn't say anything he just sat there looking on Alexander.

"Zachary!" and he blinks twice and then said, "Eve...I know what happened to you" 

I widened my eyes, "what? So tell me !" I exclaimed.

"You will not like it" he warned me.

"I don't give a damn! Tell me!" he couldn't disagree with me and he said,

"You said you heard Mirena's laugh and voice in your head."

"Yes.." I whispered.

he tilted his head on the side and began "She was playing with your mind, you still didn't shift yet and you can't block your mind, she took advantage of it and made you think that it was all real" he stated locking his hands.

"It means..."

"Yes, it means she is getting stronger." 

No...Mirena is getting stronger...and if she will become stronger...I...I will die...
