The only thing that was going through my mind was the images of what I saw in that house in the village. I couldn't allow it to be Theolis's fate. I could smell all the foreign scents of Kind Azget's men miles away and I knew that King Azget would make good on his promise.
"Rhonda?! Are you at the castle yet?" I heard Rowan continuously mindlink me. I couldn't bring myself to give him the answer until I was with Theolis. The moment the castle came into view, I saw smoke arising from the top and I knew that something had been horribly wrong. I could hear the wolves running next to me howl out in pain as we saw what was once our home burning. I promised myself that when I find out Theolis was indeed okay, I would make sure that King Azget would pay for this with his life and I would make it my life's mission to wipe out his entire kingdom.
We finally arrived at the entrance of the castle and I couldn't get off of my horse any faster. I ran into the castle and saw that it was chaos everywhere. I ran straight through the chaos on the ground floor as I bolted up the stairs to get to the nursery. I shoved open the nursery door and desperately ran into the room, looking over at all the hiding places. Everywhere I looked, he wasn't there. Panic and bile started to arise in my throat as I felt like I was losing him with each and every second that passed.
I ran out of the nursery and up to his room, he had to be there. I would definitely kick the ass of who ever decided to take him up to his room. He always needed to stay in the nursery when there was a problem or an attack. I opened his door and looked everywhere in his room, he wasn't here.
Shit! s**t! s**t!
"Rowan, he's not here! He's not in the castle!" I yelled over mindlink, hoping that Rowan would at least have the faintest idea of where someone would have taken Theolis. I felt the tears starting to roll down my cheeks as I waited for Rowan to reply. It felt like forever before Rowan got back to me.
