Chapter Three - Family Reunion

632 Words
I made it to the border of Red Rose territory. I parked just on the other side and turned off the engine. Somebody should be sensing my intrusion soon enough. They movement stopping woke up Sarah. She stretch and rubbed her eyes.      "Where are we?" She asks     "We are at your land. Someone should be here soon, I'm sure." I respond.     I could smell wolves getting closer to us. I could smell at least five of them. They all pop out of the trees, surrounding us. Four of them were in wolf form and a tall older man was in human form. From the aura he was putting off, I guessed he was a Beta. Sarah confirmed it for me.     "Beta Adam," she greeted him     "Sarah," he sighed, "your father is livid. You know not to wander off like that. How many times do you need to be punished before you learn?"     "How many times have you wandered off, Sarah? It sounds like this is a regular occurrence." I question     "Only a couple," she almost whispers     "Only a couple!!" Beta Adam exclaims, "It was only a couple last week and the week before and the week before. Who are you?"     He looks at me in the eyes and tries to intimidate me with his aura. It doesn't work. Other wolves aura's have no effect on me. It doesn't matter if they are a Beta, Alpha, or even a councilperson. Now my aura, tends to have a sober effect on most. It's not worth my time to use it right now though. He is only concerned about the child.      "I'm Velda. I found a couple rogues chasing Sarah and helped her out." I explained.     "What pack are you with?" he asks     "I don't have a pack." I respond     "You don't smell like a rogue, so you must be from some pack." he starts to sound more aggressive thinking, I'm sure, that I am lying to him.     I give him a smirk and can't help but laugh at the anger showing on his face. It has been so long since I have had someone give me that look. "I'm a white wolf. I don't need a pack." I tel him.     I can see him mind-linking someone. My guess is that it is the Alpha. I wish they would hurry up. I'd like to get off this thing and stretch for a minute. I already know how this is going to go. The Alpha will insist I come to the pack house. He will thank me for helping his daughter, then proceed to threaten me with calling the council. Of course the second part depends if he knows who I am or not. The world believes me to be dead so it is possible that he won't make the correlation.      "Alpha Mitchell would like you to go up to the pack house. I'll have one of my warriors escort you. Alan, you take her." he orders.     The pack house was thankfully not far. When I pulled up in front there were two people on the porch. I could see right away why Sarah reminded me of a little fairy. Her mother was clearly one. She was very beautiful with her light blond hair, small stature and shining pink wings. As soon as she spotted us, she ran toward Sarah taking her from the quad.      "Oh my goodness," she exclaims spotting the bandage, "what happened to you?"     "I got attacked by rogues. Velda saved me and brought me home." Sarah explains.     "Thank you so much Velda. You saved my baby. I will forever be in your debt." She smiles with tears in her eyes.
