What on earth

Lily's POV

Jessie didn't say much when we left. Just brought me to the car and told me it was a bit of a drive back to his house. Wasn't long before I lost myself in my thinking... Again...

I didn't know what to think. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, hell I was just r***d by two strangers. Then the guy i haven't been able to get my mind off of both from being terrified of him, and still not being able to completely get over my high-school crush just happens to be the one to come in and stop them.

I haven't seen Jessie in years. Not since he left our high-school years ago to go to some other school up north. He's more built now than he was back then. Chiseled chin, light brown hair, the bluest eyes I've ever seen. The clothes he was wearing fit him perfectly, hugging his biceps perfectly and his chest just seemed to pop.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!! I can't be thinking of him like that. Hell, I haven't really talked to him since he assaulted me when we were kids. Guess I'm more f****d up than I thought..

Cutting off my train of thought the truck stopped outside what looked to be a mansion. I mean I knew his family had a decent amount of money back then, but I had no idea it was this much.

Jessie came to my side of the truck and opened the door.

I looked at him briefly, but couldn't bring myself to look him in the eye. I hopped out of the truck and waited for him to lead the way, but he didn't. He just stood there and stared at me.

"I'm sorry for what they did to you.. They'll learn their lesson for touching you, I promise you that." I could tell by his body language he wasn't sure what else to say he was stiff, and couldn't decide to put his hands in his pockets or not.

I didn't say a word, I just stood there looking down at my feet unsure of what to do until I heard someone yelling for me.

"Lily! Is that you?? Come here sweet girl, we have some catching up to do." Cherry, Jessie's mom told me.

She always treated me like her own when I was growing up. Always had my back, and tried to limit the amount Jessie could tease me and his sister. Cherry was a character with no filter. You never really knew what was going to come out of her mouth.

We walked into the sitting room where she had some tea waiting for us. She sat down on the blue couch, eyeing me clearly a little unsure of how to start this conversation. I sat opposite to her.

"So dear, I heard you left college is that right?"

"Yea, wasn't for me."

"You're grooming now right?"

"Sure am"

An awkward silence started to take over until I couldn't take it any longer.

"Sorry Cherry, I think I just need a hot shower and some rest if that's okay..."

"Of course sweetheart, whatever you need. Jess will show you the way."

I stood up and turned to see Jessie in the doorway. "This way"

We walked through at least four hallways before we found a bedroom i would apparently be staying in. When Jessie opened the door what was waiting was beautiful. A queen size bed on the far end of the room with royal blue sheets and a billion pillows all over it, a few rugs on the floor, a TV in the corner above a fireplace, a walk in closet, and a bathroom attached which was probably bigger than my apartment back in the city

JESSIE POV

I couldn't help but watch her every movement, I kept kicking myself in the ass over this. I mean sure, we were kids and I shouldn't of been able to feel the mate bond yet but I shouldve known it was more than just some childhood crush. She's human, and up until she came here she had no idea what was out there... that we were out there. How in the world am I gonna make this better. I wonder if she even remembers what happened back then.

"Thanks" she spoke in a soft whisper.

"You have nothing to thank me for okay.. I'm sorry you were put into such a horrible situation. I should've been there sooner to stop them"

"But you did. As soon as you got there you did. Thats what matters."

I could feel she heartbeat race when I was around, but I couldn't tell exactly why. Was she attracted to me, terrified of me, could she feel the bond???

"I'm going to wash up. Thanks again."

She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and gave me a small nod before leaving to the bathroom.

Once I heard the water turn on I left her room, Liam came running up to me.

"Alpha, how is she doing."

"Shes scared, but she's coming around."

"What are you going to do to Cole and Jarred?"

I stopped in my tracks. "They can rot in those cells as far as I care"

I looked at my Beta and let out a loud sigh.

"I get they didn't know.... but they shouldve waited, then this wouldn't of happened!!"

my beta lowered his head "Are we going to banish them."

"First I wanna have a little chat.."
