LILY
I barely managed to put on one of Bella’s oversized round neck tees before rushing after her. She didn't stop, no matter how much I called her. I soon had to keep quiet when we started climbing down the stairs because the house was waking up. The guests were waking up and finding their way out of the building, while some were still sprawled on sofas and even on the floor.
Bella didn't knock on her brother's door. She tore the door open. Roland was still fast asleep and naked except for the duvet covering him from just below his waist. It was a thick duvet, but it did nothing to hide the outline of his d**k.
My mouth dried as I was momentarily distracted by it. That thing was in me last night. It made me feel the kind of pleasure I haven't felt before, and it gave me my first orgasm.
While I was drowning in the memories from last night, Bella was angrily tapping her brother.
“Uhmm, what's that?” was Roland’s sleepy reply as he stretched with his eyes still shut. The movement made the duvet slip a little, and I caught sight of the base of his c**k before he pulled it up and chased his sleeping position.
Bella wasn't having any of it. She slapped him angrily till he jerked up to a sitting position with his hair tousled and his eyes barely open.
“Why, Bella? What…” his groggy eyes landed on me, and I felt a wave of awareness that made my tongue gum to the roof of my mouth. I expected recognition to fill his eyes. I expected him to say something about last night. I wanted to see his reaction when he remembered that we'd crossed a line that we shouldn't dare cross, but instead, a teasing smile touched his mouth.
“Didn't find a man to give your virginity to last night, Lily? Is that why you're disturbing my sleep?”
What? My mouth dropped open as I exchanged a glance with Bella. Her expression mirrored mine.
“Did you chase her away?” Roland continued, voice a bit clearer as sleep cleared from his eyes. He was now looking around the room as if searching for something, “I spent a night with a girl. Did you chase her away? Most girls always hang around for a morning round.”
I scoffed, my heart breaking and tears filling my eyes. So that was it? He spent the night with me. Took my virginity, and he didn't even have the decency to remember that it was me. Was I that unremarkable or was it just…
I looked at Bella, whose chest was heaving and whose poise was ready for her. I shook my head at her. I didn't want her to push it. I didn't want her to tell him that I was the girl. It was better if he didn't know. At least, I'd be saved from the awkwardness.
Instead, I used that as an opportunity to scan the room for my neck chain subtly. It was neither on the bed nor on the floor. It wasn't on the bedside table either.
“Well, that's gone,” Roland started as he stood from the bed and wrapped the duvet around his waist, “Back to you, Lily. Did you find a man to sleep with last night? Finally left the virgins’ club?”
I opened my mouth to give him a sarcastic reply, but Bella beat me to it, “Why? And what's this, your obsession with her virginity and virgins? Have you never been with one? Is that why you're too obsessed?”
“What?” Roland chuckled uneasily as his eyes darted between us. There was a brief look of panic in his eyes, which was weird, because he was Roland Fred, a main player on the hockey team and one of the most popular students in school.
He was always confident about everything.
“Don't be ridiculous,” he continued as he moved around the room, “I have girls throwing themselves at me every minute of the day.”
“Girls, not inexperienced ones,” Bella bit back, “no one has ever chosen you for their first time, right? Nobody thinks of you as serious enough to do something that special with you. That's why you're so hung up on Lily's virginity. Were you hoping that she'd choose you for her first time?”
The more he spoke, the redder Roland became, and the tighter he held onto the duvet around his waist. He wasn't looking at me. He kept his entire attention on his sister.
“Don't be foolish, Bella,” he gritted out, “Lily is like a sister…”
“Well, Lily's first time will be with someone who truly cherishes her and would worship the ground she walks on,” Bella continued without giving him a chance to complete his statement.
“It's been a year of trying. How's that going for her?”
“Ohh, don't be so bitter,” Bella answered with a sugary smile, “there's someone, someone special. Someone who has already flown to the resort ahead of us and has planned to use the two-week vacation to sweep her off her feet.”
Again, I saw the brief panic in Roland’s eyes. He glanced briefly at me before looking at his sister.
“That's a… It’s a lie.”
It was a lie. I knew that much, and I wished Bella didn't have to lie to prove a point. He was going to catch us sooner or later, and it'd just make things more embarrassing for me.
“We're going to the resort together, right?” Bella’s tone was sarcastic, “You'll see it for yourself.”
With that, she grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the room. I didn't say a thing to her till we were back in her room.
“You didn't have to lie. Now, he'd figure out that we lied when we got to the resort, and it'd be more embarrassing for me. He'd only tease me endlessly.”
“I didn't… I had to… I mean… It’s not a lie!” she announced out of nowhere.
“Come on, Bella.”
“It's true, Lilly. There's a guy from the hockey team. I know he likes you, but he has never pursued it because he was certain you didn't like him. I was the one who encouraged him to go on a vacation to that resort in Greece, too, during the time we'd be there, so he could court you and ask you out.”
“What? Wait, is this for real?”
“Would I lie about something like this? I mean,” she walked away from where we stood in the middle of the room to sit down on the bed. I followed suit, “It was supposed to be a secret, but I had to let it out because of the whole thing with Roland.”
Wow. My mind was already entering an overdrive as I thought of spending a summer with a potential boyfriend, sneaking around in the resort, making out, and probably falling in love. It made me giddy, and most importantly, I knew it'd help me get over Roland.
“So who's this guy? I must know him since he's from the Hockey Team, but what's his name?”
“Uhmm, you're going to have to wait till we get to the resort to find that out. I intend to keep that secret.”
I pushed her, but no matter how hard I tried to goad her into telling me who it was, Bella refused. So I spent the next three days overthinking who it could be and delineating all the hockey players to figure out who had given me a hint of liking me during the last year.
No one came to mind.
And nothing also prepared me for who it was when we finally got to the resort.
