They stood there, too close for my comfort, with their faces only a few inches apart. Alex Martinez has that infuriating grin plastered on his face, the one he wore when he knew exactly what effect he was having.
“So..” he drawled, looking at Lily like she was the brightest star in the room. “How surprised are you?” He asked, voice low, teasing, and almost intimate.
Lily blinked up at him with wide eyes and flushed cheeks. “A hundred percent,” she replies, her voice small, yet filled with excitement.
