Chapter eight: The guard named Alex

"Ahaha yeh sure. ME? The supreme it's just a coincidence that I got captured the same time as her" I reply to Jax.

"I'm just saying, there's a possibility" 

"Well that possibility is unlikely" I say to him.

"Oi, you two. Dinners ready" a voice came from below us. It was Aidan shouting, his voice is so loud for someone so little.

"Coming!" Jax shouts.

He looks at me "you ready?" I nod. with that he picks me up bridal style. 

I gasp. He takes a few steps towards the edge of the building. I was basically hanging over the edge. I squint my eyes and with one more step we fall forward. The wind blow through my hair whipping it around my face. The wind suddenly stops. I open my eyes seeing the ground. I put my feet down with Jax letting go of me. 

"Well thank you kind sir" I joke.

"Maybe one day you'll be as good as me and be able to fly" Jax laughs at me. I look at him and elbow him in the side. He winks at me, laughing. 

"Looks like I'll never be as good as you" I joke putting my arms across my chest and sulking.

"Oh trust me, she can fly" Hal says walking into the picture with a plate full of food in his hand. 

"What do you mean?" Jax asks. As quickly as Hal walked into the conversation he quickly walked back out of it.

"Man of many words is Hal" I say.

"Well saying he can read the past, present and future. He wouldn't need to speak because he already knows the answer to the questions that haven't been asked yet" Jax reply's.

"Think that was the smartest sentence you've ever said" I laugh.  I return the favour and shove him back with the side of my body. 

"Would you guys stop flirting and get some food already?!" A snobby Autumn says.

"What's flirting" I ask Jax. He smiles at me, with his cheeks going a shade of red.

"What!?" I wine at him. 

He chuckles at me and walks away. I shrug and let the question slide. I walk towards the fire that was still burning. Hal hands Jax two plates filled with food, passing me one. 

"Thanks"

"Anytime my lady" he replies. What's that word he used earlier? Erm ... oh yeh 'cringy' I think now is a good time to refer that as cringy.

I sit down on the grass alongside everyone else who was eating. Wolf was sat next to Autumn staring down the food she had in her hands. Aidan and Hunter just sat talking to each other with Hal been quiet as normal, and Jax sat fairly close to me. 

It was peaceful. 

"I'm going to get some tomato sauce for this burger" Aidan stands up and announces. Walking back inside. 

"EIGHTEEN"  I suddenly hear. Everyone's eyes bolted to the door of the building. I jumped up and somehow ended up stood right next to Aidan. Did I just teleport?

"What's wrong?!" I say to him grabbing his shoulders and bending down to his level. I look around the room. Seeing if anyone was in here with us, we was in the living room.

"The, the tv" he pointed at it.

"There was someone on the camera near the building, he looked scary"

"Ah okay, quickly go back to the others" I say holding his hand and running through the building.

Everyone was stood in the hallway working out where Aidan and I was. 

"There's someone here" I quietly say to Jax.

"Autumn take the boys to the living room and lock the door" that's the safest room in this building with there being the cameras a locked door and no windows.

"Hal go with them please" Jax says.

Jax and I run to the garden, he grabs me pulling me to his side. I feel my body become weightless, we was flying once again. We landed on the roof of the building, looking over the edge of it in every corner. Looking for the man.

"There!" Jax says pointing at him keeping his head low.

"What's he doing" I ask, the man was creepily walking round the building look through windows.

"Could just be a normal guy, going for a walk" jax stupidly says

"Oh yeh course a random guy is sneaking around for no reason" I reply.

"Let's just go talk to him" Jax says standing up. 

"Wait" I say holding my hand up to Jax to stop him from walking. 

"I know him... that's Alex, one of the guards" I say.

"They've found us" Jax was getting nervous.

"No... I don't think they have. It's just him" I reply looking around for others. 

"Why would he come alone" 

"I'm not sure, but we'll soon find out" I say. 

Jax grabs my hand and brings me back down to the ground. We slowly creep up behind the guard. I grabbed his shoulder with a firm grip. He turns facing me. 

He gasps "Oz..." He was about to say something, but I stopped him.

"Sleep" I say calmly to him. His body falls limb to the floor.

"I forgot you can basically hypnotise people" Jax come up behind you. 

"Would you like me to zap you as well" I say jokingly holding my hand out and wiggling my fingers to touch him.

"Eh no no, keep that to the bad guys thanks" he laughs backing away from my hand.

"I'm just messing with yeh, now help me carry this guy" I say.

"You have all the powers in the world, and the one useful one you don't have is strength?! How's that even possible" he laughs picking Alex's body up off the floor, and letting out a big puff.

"Why don't you just use your abilities?" I laugh at him. 

"Oh yeh, I've been cooped up for a few years I forgot I can use them anytime I like Ahha" he laughs. And I shake my head at him.

He places the body back on the floor, and with no effort he lifts him up in the air with just his mind. We slowly move with Alex floating behind us back inside. 

"Where shall we put him?" I say to Jax.

"where ever he falls" Jax laughs. 

"Guysssss" I shout walking into the entrance of the Lord.

Everyone runs out the living room. 

"Don't bring him in here!" Autumn shouts. 

"Where else are we going to put him Autumn?".

"Somewhere in a ditch".

"Well that's not nice is it" I glare at her.

"What him and his friends did to us wasn't nice!" 

"Two wrongs don't make a right" A quote I remember from my books I used to read hours on end.

"Says the person who probably killed everyone in the prison" she snaps at me.

I look down.

"We wouldn't be here is it wasn't for Eighteen, now I suggested you thank her for your freedom or we'll happily give you to the guards" Jax states to Autumn. She rolls her eyes.

"She was defending us and herself, the best thing we can do with the guard is to ask questions. Especially on how he found us". Hal suggests. 

I nod.

"Hunter, can you get a chair out the kitchen please" Hal asks. He quickly runs to the kitchen and back with a chair. 

Jax places Alex on the chair. "Autumn can you" I wave my hand towards Alex. 

She waves her hand creating thick, strong vines that wrapped around. I walk up to him and grabbed an apple off one of the vines and take a bite out of it. "Thanks" I say to Autumn. She mutters something and walks up stair. I presume up to her room. For someone who has a beautiful talent she has an awful mood.

I look at Alex. He had a small scar on his eyebrow from where I hit him with a rock. That seems like forever ago. He had dark brown hair. He also had tattoos all up his arms. 

Suddenly Aidan runs into the room with a bucket of water. 

"Wait!" I try to stop him but the water goes over Alex's face. UGH

Alex wakes up gasping for air he stops and looks around. He was working out his surroundings, his eyes sweeping the room eventually getting to me. The room was eerie everyone just waiting to see what happens. 

"Your hair" is the first thing he says under his breath. I take a strand of hair it was bright red. 

"what about it?" 

"its not how I remembered it" I ignore what he says.

"How did you know we was here?" 

"I know everything about you all. When I was told of sightings of you I knew you was heading over here"

"does anyone else know we're here?" I ask. 

He pauses.

"No" few everyone looks relieved.

"why did you come here?" 

"To find you" 

"why me?"

"Look, I've come here with no weapons. No one knows i'm here. Let me out and I'll tell you what you need to know"

"Puff heard that before" Aidan puts his arms across his chest and shakes his heard. 

I smirk trying not to laugh. 

"Please, I just want to explain everything" Alex says.

"Talk then" I say sternly. 

"I'm not explaining with everyone here, just to you" He says to me. 

I pause for a moment, thinking. I look at everyone and smile at they. 

"Lets go to the living room, shout for us if you need us Eighteen" Hal says reading my mind. I nod in reply.

"You sure you'll be okay" Jax questions putting a hand on my shoulder.

"I'll be just fine Jax" smiling.

As the door closes behind everyone, I look at Alex.

"Explain" I say directly to him. 

"I've been looking for you for years. You're a hard person to find" I look confused as he speaks. He continues. "I worked as a guard to ensure your safety".

"Very funny, the last time I saw you was when you stabbed me with some poles in my legs, how the hell is that ensuring my safety. Huh?".

"Look, I did what I did  to keep you safe. Acting was apart of keeping you safe"

"Ah yeh cause that makes sense".

"I'm looking for the supreme. Word has it, that's you" he states 

"Why do people keep saying that. The supreme killed thousands and they was ages like 8? If I was the supreme I would've killed more by now" I question him. I'm not the supreme, I'm not a horrible person. 

"The supreme, was the most amazing person on the planet. She thought for freedom. What Hart didn't tell you was that the supreme killed guards and only evil people. The supreme also destroyed prisons and saved millions of lives. Not thousands. Millions." He breaths. 

"When people thought the supreme was dead, they gave up fighting and those prisons left over is where the government filtered Zd children. They went in alive and soon came out dead. The reason your friends are still alive is because the government wasn't giving enough funding to do experiments on them. So they stored them. You on the other hand.. well Hart new you had great power. He also new you was what we called the supreme so the longer he had you, the quicker we would lose hope in life. He was waiting for the perfect time to use you.. he was hoping to use you against us, if we ever raised above him".

"5 years ago I got told. You was alive. Been held captive and was stronger then ever before. I found you in the prison 2 years ago and became a guard to get you out of there, waiting for the perfect time to get you out. And when after years you was finally brought out of your cell.. well I knew that was my chance". He finishes. 

I take it all in. I don't believe I'm the supreme. 

"How do I believe you?" I ask. I want to believe him, but I don't. 

"I knew your friend very well. Jessica. She was my sister, you still have her feather necklace I'm guessing?" 

"I do"

With that he shows me his gold feather necklace. 

"She could make things fly, like me. I have a gold one, my brother has a silver and Jessica had a bronze one. That was 6 years ago that my sister was taken away from us. My parents told us that she was going to a boarding school. I heard them talking one night.. my mother was crying and screaming at my dad. My dad was the one who sent her to the prisons. My brother and I was leaving to go to a boarding school a week later, but the day we was supposed to leave, we ran away from home. Never returning. We tried looking for our sister. However the amount prisons there was at the time and our lack of information. We couldn't find her" 

That's very sad. Sometimes I can't tell if losing my memory was a good thing, not being able to remember bad times in my life seems like a positive.

"So your ability is telekinesis? Like Jessica's?" I ask 

"Yes it is, so is my brother's" with that the vines wrapped around him started to peel off him, coming apart. He then stands up off the chair. 

"Okayy" I say awkwardly... do I let him out? He's been able to do that the whole time and he didn't do it before? Hm.

With that everyone comes out of the living room apart from Hunter and Aidan.  

"Why'd you let him out" An unhappy Autumn says.

"I didn't, he has abilities like us" 

"Wait, what!" Jax was shocked

"Well that's a twist in the story" Hal says laughing. He probably already knew that this was gonna happen.. think I need to speak to Hal later.  

"Not to be rude or out Alex, but Hal and Autumn can you just watch him whilst I speak to Jax please" they nod.

We walk away from the hallway from where we was, and walk under the door frame to the kitchen keeping an eye on Alex at the same time. 

Hopefully he doesn't have super hearing too.

"What did he say" Jax asks confused.

"Basically his siblings and himself have telekinesis, and I knew his sister... he said he was looking for me for years.. I haven't asked him how he did find me yet though". 

"Why was he looking for you?" 

"That's what I said!" 

"Does he think you're the supreme" he asks me.

Do I tell him the truth? That Alex thinks I'm the supreme. "I'm not sure" I say looking to the floor.

"Well.. erm we'll put him in a room and we'll keep a close eye on him until we can trust him" Jax thinks.

"Yeh we'll do that, that's a good idea" I hope.

We walk back to the other and I nod to them smiling.

"Okay Alex, what do you want to do now?" I question him. We had unintentionally circled around him. 

"Well, I don't belong as a guard because I was working undercover, I wouldn't mind a place to stay" he says smiling at us.

"Why don't you go back to the prison? Perhaps request for a cell instead of your nice rooms" Autumn snaps.

"Captivity 202 was destroyed when the helicopter landed on it.. so even if I wanted to, I can't stay there now. And may I just say Hunter has incredibly good aim with the fire hitting the helicopter" he adds.

"Thanks" Hunter shouts through the door. They where earwigging.

"Stop listening Aidan and Hunter" I shout back.

Alex's laughs, "Tell me, how did you find us?" Jax's asks Alex.

"Huh" he laughs again looking down "Well that's another story" 

"We've got time" Autumn replies. She's so moody. What is it with these teens. 

"Well, let me start off with how your hair reminds me of roses". Ffs. I look at Jax who roles his eyes at him. 

"You knew it was me on the bus?" I was shocked.

"Why didn't you tell anyone it was us" I add.

"Because I was still acting as a guard. When I saw it was you. I knew.. with Aidan's abilities been what they are, that the others where hidden. When me and the other guard got back in the car. I quickly knocked him out. Through him out the car and drove off, following the bus. I then lost you at the train station" he pauses.

"Now trust me that other guard, won't be happy when he wakes up in the middle of no where with a bruise on his head" Autumn laughs at what Alex's says. She has an evil laugh. Weird child.

"How did you find us after the train station" Jax's asks.

"Now that's a secret".

"Where are they?!" I basically shout at Alex.

"Well, like you wanted to see if you can trust me. They also want to see if they can trust you" he says, seriously. Ugh. 

I breath in slowly, I can't be bothered with all the questions anymore. 

"Right we're going to get you a room" I move my head towards Jax, gesturing him to follow me.

"Follow me I say to Alex" 

We walk up the wide stair case, then walk down the hallway where all the bedrooms are. We go to the last room which was empty. Alex walk in the room.

"I might need something to sleep on" 

"Well if you give me a moment I'll sort that out for you" I say to him smirking.

"Now don't you forget, you're a guest here. You don't live here" I put him in place.

He looks at me waiting. I hold the door frame and close my eyes. I imagine a simple room. With the main colour being a dark blue. I open my eyes back up seeing the room had been furnished. 

"Your eyes are black" Alex looks in adore. 

"They tend to do that, now stay here and don't think about leaving. The door will be locked along with a little bit of extra security of course, we'll come check on you in a bit" I say to him closing the door behind him and waving. 

Jax locks the door and puts the key in his pocket. 

"What you going to do to it" he asks

"I'm going to put a box around it" I place my hands apart on the door. With that you could see blue and white electric beams going around the wall on our side, that will go around his whole room of course.

"That's cool". 

"Anyways I'm going to get some sleep, I'm shattered. Are you staying up a bit longer?" I ask him.

"Yeh I'm not tired so I'll be staying up for some time" 

"Is it okay if you can check up on him often, or even wake me up in a bit and I'll check on him?" I ask.

"No you're alright I'll check on him, I'll ask the others if they can to" 

"Okay thanks Jax. Good night" I say walking into my room.

I go to my cupboards, stripping of my now dirty clothes and putting on some fresh PJs. Whilst doing so I see something shining on my skin in the stand up mirror. I walk closer to it. Like the blue and white beams around Alex's room there was some sort of electric circling my the back of my arm. I wonder why that just started doing that. Meh I'll check on it in morning and see if it's still there.

I get in bed and lay my head on the pillows and with that all I see is darkness.
