Chapter Ten: Pangaea

I wake up to Jax shaking my arm, we was still in the car but the car wasn't moving.

"Where are we?" I ask him. I'm so confused.

"I'm not sure but Alex just woke me up and told us to get out of the car" he says to me. My mind catches up on the present time and I look over at Autumn who was sound asleep. I shake her shoulder waking her up. She blinks a few times looking confused.

"I think we're here" I say to her. She smiles at me opening the car door.

I do the same climbing out of the car. I look up gasping. I was faced with a huge wall going as far as the eye could see. With a small door way leading inside it. It looked like what ancient Romans would build but with a modern twist. 

"I've never seen anything like this in my life" Even Autumn was shocked.

I look over to Jax "what is this place" he says.

"This must be it, but where's Alex?" just as I say that he comes out the door way and walks over to us. 

"Did you all have a good nap?" He says asking rhetorically.

"It was very nice, however I don't appreciate been knocked out without been asked first"

"Sorry about that" he says scratching the back of his neck. He carry's on.

"The thing is, we're not allowed to tell anyone where we are based, and the honoured have to trust you first" 

"The honoured? who's that" Autumn asks.

"The honoured is one person, they're kind of like our president. They make the decision to follow through with strategies or just anything thing important" He explains.

"Now follow me and please be on your best behaviour, abilities can be used. ONLY for a good reason" we all nod our heads. He's suddenly been strict.

We walk in side one by one. The building is so beautiful. We walked through a hallway as I looked down it you I could see a bright light. The building we was in wasn't a building but just a thick concrete wall. As I got closer to the other side of the door way, I could hear birds chirping and water falling. We all got to the door way, Jax was in front of me he suddenly stopped in the door way and looked around.

"Oh my" Jax says

"What is it" I say as he moved out the way.

He moved out the way and I walk out the door way. 

"Welcome to Pangaea" Alex says as I try to take in everything I could see.

"Cool!" Autumn says behind me.

There was a large lake filled with ducks and swans. Birds flying in the sky, butterflies and bees swarming around the flowers.

Just when everyone was enjoying the moment.

"Lol well Hogwarts beat you to it pal" Autumn sniggers patting Alex on the shoulder and walking ahead. 

"What does Pangaea mean?" Jax asks 

"Well for staters it's pronounced pang-a-yah and it means 'all the world' it was the name given for when the tectonic plates moved and formed the continents we know of today.. we see it as.. coming together after so long apart"

Very smart.

"How is all this possible?" I ask Alex.

"Well this was all made by the originals with their abilities, we all took part in creating it".

"Wow" Jax follows.

"Who's the originals?" I ask.

"They are a group of people who guide the honoured on making decisions. They also were the first Gen z here" He nods his head.

"Right then, I'll give you a quick show around and we'll go from there" Alex follows. 

Again we follow him, we get to an entrance getting stopped by two men. They're weird looking. Both are blue with thick beards.

"Alright boys, you both okay?" Alex says Hello to them. They nod at him, both are very symmetrical.

"These two are part of our security system. They are twins, this is Oslo and the other is Riggs" weird names. He continues. 

"Unfortunately Oslo and Riggs got caught by the guards about 2 years ago whilst out trying to find a friend of ours. Luckily for us they didn't tell them where Pangaea was.. only because they cut out their own tongues with a sharp stone minutes before they got questioned. Now I'd like to call them a hero for not putting everyone at risk... but I think they're a bunch of crazy motherfuckers" he laughs putting a hand on the mans shoulder. They wasn't much older them me.

"Aren't you Oslo" Alex says. Oslo turns his head nods and then places himself back in the same position as before. He had a long beard and piercings on his face. Hmm not sure if I find them scary or interesting.

We again follow Alex through the building. He suddenly turns around and we all stop almost crashing into each other. 

"Now then. Remember I said best behaviour?" he looks at Autumn first.

"Why you looking at me" 

"Because you cause the most trouble" Alex replies to Autumn. To be honest he is starting to grow on me. She huffs in reply and with that he opens two giant doors leading into a larger room. 

The room was filled with books, when you looked around, it was all in alphabetical order. 

"Right then, there is millions of books in here. All based on the same subject"

"Which is?" Jax asks.

"You" he replies.

"What do you mean" 

"So all these books has a member of generation z's name on them" he continues.

"Every little detail of a person is in one book" he then picks up a book.

"This one is my book" Alex passes Autumn the book.

She opens the large book "There's nothing in it, the pages are just blank?".

"Luckily for me you can only see your own book, the only way you can see someone else's book is if that person has a significant meaning in your life" 

"Can you see anyone else's?" I ask him. 

He nods, "Yes I can see my families" he pauses "and a close friend of mine". He seemed sad talking about his close friend. Something must have happened to them.

"Can we have a look at our books?" Autumn asked.

"Course you can.. just know there maybe some facts in there about yourself you may not even know" 

She nods running straight to the area with A's 

"I'm not bothered about my book, I already know what I need to about myself" Jax says.

"I don't even know my name so I wouldn't even know where to start looking" I follow looking down to the ground. I look at Alex making eye contact. He straight away tries to avoid it and looks else where. I'll pretend I didn't see that.

"Alex!" Autumn suddenly screams.

"Yes?" He says replying.

"My book only has four pages full. Where's the rest of them?!" She screeches to Alex.

"Well then, that's all the facts about you" he shrugs.

"What ?! There should be a full series of books about me!" She struts off and he shrugs his shoulders. 

"Who has the biggest book here?" Jax said to Alex.

"Erm" he looks around the corner as if someone's about to walk into the room.

"That would be the supreme" he says whilst itching his back.

"Who's the supreme" Jax replies.

"Only the Honoured know" he replies.

"Where is the book?" I ask him.

"It's in the middle of the room" he's says whilst pointing at it.

We all walk over to the book. It looked as if it was glowing. I bend down a little looking underneath the book. It was also floating. I wave my hand under it, just to double check it wasn't my mind playing with me.

"How's all this possible" I ask Alex 

"Well when the war finished everyone needed a place to live. So some of the Generation z joined together and created a safe place for the Gen z to live at. It made everyone feel normal. It's a home" 

I reached out to open it. As I turned the page I see one sentence.

"When we fall, we fall together. When we rise, we rise together" 

I was about to turn the next page and before I could look at it. Alex puts his hand over the book to stop me. 

"I think that's enough for today"

Before I could say anything he speaks again.

"Right then i'll show you to a place you can rest for a bit and clean up and then we will talk more. You all okay with that?" He says with his deep voice.

We all nod looking at each other. 

"Follow me everyone" He then adds.

We walk through another door leading to a different corridor. Following him to a metal wall. He presses a button and we wait.

"What we waiting for?" I ask confused 

"Erm the elevator" autumn says sarcastically.

"What's an elevator" I ask again.

"You can't remember what an elevator is?" Alex looks at me point at the metal door

I shake my head. With that the door opens to more metal walls. Everyone walks in and I follow them into it. 

"Right now what?" With that the floor moved sending us down. I move my arms out and panicked at the quick movement of the room.

Everyone laughs at me. 

We stand inside the elevator for a few seconds until we hear a 'beep'. With that the doors opened revealing  another corridor however it was smaller then the rest. 

"This is where most of the bedrooms are. Since there's only three of you. You can share a room.

"Me? Share a room. Yeh right" Autumn says, before Alex even finishes his sentence.

"I thought that would be the case" he laughs "there's a small room up the corridor follow that and it has the name 'Emerald' on it" And with that Autumn follows his instructions.

"And then there was two" he says turning towards Jax and I.

"Are you both okay sharing a room? We're very limited on rooms" Alex says looking for approval from both of us.

"Eh yeh" I say in reply with Jax nodding in reply.

Alex smiles showing us to the room named 'winter'. He opens the door. I was blasted by a chill of cold as he opened the door. 

"Offf, it's so cold I'm here" I say crossing my arms over my chest. 

"Yeh.... sorry about that. The last person to have this room had the ability turn things into ice" he says scratching his back. 

"Has she moved rooms or something" Jax says 

"Mmm yeh something like that" Alex replies.

Me and Jax both looked at each other worried.

"Right then, make yourself comfortable and we'll call you when diners been served" 

We both nod and smile. With that he shuts the door behind him. Leaving me and Jax alone.

As Alex walked out. I look across the room, seeing the layout of the bed room. There was two single beds either side each wall with wardrobes in between. At least we aren't sharing a bed.

I jump on the furthest away laying on my back and looking at the ceiling.The wooden bed frame was surprisingly comfy.

"I'm so tired, I'm going for a nap" Jax says

"Oh yeh I'll join you with that idea" I say.

"You okay if I turn the lights off?" 

"Yeh" I reply 

He turns the light off and I stare at the ceiling. It had glow in the dark blue drawings on. Oh wow. This reminds of then I was in my stone cell carving the days in the roof. 

"Good night eighteen" 

"Good night Jax"
