To the base

Oliver's P.O.V We were leaving the Lightning pack territory in human form but as soon as we stepped out, we all turned into our wolves. Everyone but Ruth. She was kind of awkwardly standing there. "What's wrong?" Sam asked and Ruth shrugged. "Why don't you change? Is there something wrong?" Jac asked and Ruth shrugged again. I walked towards her and bumped my head against her waist. "I don't know why but I don't want to change." She said softly. "But we are going to run. I want to go home and see if our rouges are doing fine." Sam said. "Sit on my back and hold on to me, just don't fall." I mind linked her and she slowly followed my orders. "Tell us when she gets too heavy, we can take her too." Sam said and Jac nodded and agreed. My wolf was light brown with a bit of brownish white going down my throat and a brownish white left ear. My front right paw was that colour too. Ruth always told me it was cute and I agreed to it. She often wants me to change in my wolf but I never got to see her wolf and I want to see it. I won't force her to change but it is going a bit too far with the hiding her wolf thing that even now she doesn't want to change. When she finally sat on my back steady we began running. I had a bit of difficulty and Ruth was constantly distracting me. She wasn't talking or anything, she was just there. I could fall asleep with her on my back, her scent was all over me and I could only smell her scent. After a while Ruth fell asleep and almost fell off me. I softly tried to wake her up but she was sleeping really deep. "Put her around my neck." Sam said. "I will carry her to the waterfall and there she might wake up. But we need to travel faster or we have to sleep here with her, something she won't enjoy." I nodded and with Jac's help I lifted Ruth around Sam's neck, kind of like a collar. We started running again and way faster then earlier, I realised they slowed down for me and I wasn't really fit the last week. We reached the waterfall after the sun went down and there were a few wolves sleeping and a few awake, watching over them. "Welcome, Fox. To the place where I found you and treated you." Sam said. "If I were you, I would go to sleep. Sam and I will do our usual and take care of everything." Jac said. Jac and I walked towards Sam to take Ruth off. We laid her on the ground and I spooned around her. To keep her completely warm, I stayed in my wolf form. I fell asleep fast and dreamed about Ruth, as usual. Jac's P.O.V I had to talk with Sam for a moment, and just us. So I told all the wolves to sleep went to the waterfall with Sam. We drank a bit, laid down and looked at the sky, the stars, the moon, the water and the waterfall. "Sam?" I said. "Yes?" She answered. "Why would Ruth not want to change?" I asked. I couldn't think of any logical answer. "I don't know. Maybe she thinks her wolf is ugly and thinks Oliver would reject her for it. Maybe because of something else. I don't know." She said looking at the sky. "Look at it." She said, and I looked up. "All those stars, all those shining lights. Ever wonder where they are, what they do, what they are and why they're there?" She said and I nodded. "Ever wonder what's beyond them?" I asked and she nodded. "Think of them as dreams. They star the furthest away is your end goal now, but when you reach it you can look even further and see another goal you want to achieve, and another and another." I said. "What if every star represents a person. Sometimes you see them, sometimes you don't, but they definitely are there. They shine and it make you see them, but if there is a bigger, brighter light shining, it blinds you and you can only see that light while all the others fade away. Or you should be able tee see them but there is a big cloud in the way and it doesn't let you see through. You will only be able to see the star if you wait and be patient until the cloud leaves. Maybe we have to be a bit more patient with Ruth." Sam said and I agreed. "When do we leave to go after Colin? We have Blossom's request so we are able to kill him on sight." I asked. "I want to take Ruth on a walk tomorrow. I want to talk with her and she her around since this is technically Ollie's home. He just found an other home which he might use more, but he will come here even after joining the pack. It is better for her to know where she is, definitely since she arrived sleeping." Sam said. "Can we leave the day after tomorrow?" I asked and she nodded. "Let's sleep." She said and we both found a place to fall asleep. Sam stayed at the lake while I went on the rock where we treated Fox when he first arrived. "Sleep well." I told Sam and she told me the same. I closed my eyes and fell asleep immediately. Sam's P.O.V After I told Jac good night I looked at the water. As I saw my reflection I saw my scar. As i saw my scar, flashbacks shot through my head. I saw fragments of me crying, beating something, grabbing the bars, everything that happened to me shot through my head just by seeing my scar. What would happen if I see dad? What if I look like mom, would the boys get too many flashbacks and want me in my wolf form, would I want myself in my wolf form if i could change? Jac told me about the night he couldn't sleep because he was thinking about our father, now I have the same. I looked at my reflection and saw ripples in the water. I realised I was crying. I put my head under water for three seconds and got back up. I woke myself up from that horrible day nightmare. It was nothing like relaxed day dreaming. I knew that if I would sleep now, without doing anything, I would get nightmares, so I went for a run, swim and hike. I ran to a near lake, probably about a square mile big with plenty of fish in it and other wild life around it. The lake was about ten mile away from our basis and I ran the distance in only a couple minutes. When I arrived I smelled if there were any large predators around, the chances were little but they were there that if you found one it would attack you. There were none and I jumped straight in the water. I swam around the lake two times and then crossed it straight to the opposite side. I jumped on land and ran another ten minutes to get to some hills, which are the beginning of mountains. I ran over every top until I reached the foot of the mountain. Jac and I call it the Shadow mountain. The mountain makes a large shadow because it's height and steepness. It took me quite a while to reach the top, but then you are there and you accomplished it. I take different routes every time I go, just to keep it challenging. The top is always windy and when you stand there, you stand in the clouds. You would look like a god from a birds perspective. Standing on and in clouds, with you fur moving in the strong wind, only a couple sun rays or moonshine reaching you. I went back down and did the same circuit back to the rouges. I fell asleep and didn't have a dream about my past, luckily.
