THIS IS CRAZY

DONOVAN’S POV “…And Princess Andrea and Prince Nicola lived happily ever after in the Kingdom of Navori, playing tag and eating all of the cake in the whole wide world.” “Donnie, now I want cake as well,” Bright said. “Me too.” These two, I swear that they were practically sharing the same brain cell. I dropped a kiss on both their foreheads. “Mum will get mad,” I said, and they were about to start pouting, so I quickly added, “But don’t worry, tomorrow morning I will buy you as much cake as you want.” “Yayyy!!” There was a knock on their room door, and Martha stuck her head inside. “Madam, your mother said it is getting late. You need your sleep for tomorrow.” “I am coming,” I said. She did not leave. I turned and shot her a sharp look. “Can I not say goodnight to my siblings in peace?” I asked, and she turned pale instantly. “No, your majesty—” “Then close the door!” She bowed and closed the door behind her. I turned back to my siblings, and they were looking at me with big, worried eyes. “Are you alright, Donnie?” they asked. “Yes, just stressed.” Bright yawned, and I laughed. “Time for you to sleep.” I tucked them both in and dimmed their bedside lights before kissing both their foreheads. “Good night, Donnie.” “Good night.” I loved my siblings so damn much, because I remembered how much I prayed to the Moon Goddess for them. It was really lonely being the only child for sixteen years. All of Mother's expectations, all of her aspirations—everything fell heavily on my shoulders… and there was no one else to take her attention away from me. And then I got them, Bright and Diamond… they were the most perfect siblings that I could have asked for, and I became even closer to them than Mum was. I would do anything for them. After I had put them to bed successfully, I looked at my phone: 10:35 p.m., and it was glaringly obvious that I needed to get some sleep now; if not, tomorrow I was going to be as irritating as possible. And tomorrow was going to be a lot for me… thinking about it was already annoying enough. I needed the most rest that I could get if I was going to successfully pass through the humiliation ritual that Mum had insisted on putting us all through. So tell me why, instead of going straight to my room, my feet decided to lead me all the way to the West Wing—which, might I add, is nowhere near my room. And much to my horror, I did not stop walking until I had followed that cedar scent all the way to stand in front of Gale’s door. No one else was here, but somehow it seemed like all eyes were on me. It felt like shame and adrenaline all at once, coming together in a dangerously all-consuming combo that made me feel like I could not breathe. I ran a hand through my hair. “This is f*****g insane,” I laughed, even though there was clearly nothing funny about the way that I felt… I was losing my mind. A good five minutes passed before I decided that I had to leave, but the second I turned… "Master... Master Donovan, please…" His moans were desperate, broken, raw, unfiltered sounds that penetrated their way deep into my soul, making me feel things that I did not think were possible; scratch that, as long as it was Gale, he could so much as breathe and I would be a goner. Before I even realized what was happening, my pants were already soaked. It was just… goddess, the way he begged so well, his voice thick with that need and desperation that I craved so badly. I bit my lip so hard I tasted copper. I knew that I shouldn’t have been listening. But how could I possibly walk away? Right now, I was no longer in control of my body… my brain had already gone offline, and the only thing that was controlling me was pure, unfiltered need. My fingers slid into my shorts, teasing my c**t through the damp fabric. “Angh—” I bit back a moan, pressing my forehead against the door like it could absorb the sound of my own wetness. I could feel my pulse between my legs, throbbing in time with his broken pleas. "f**k, f**k, f**k," I whispered to myself, rubbing faster, my hips jerking in time with his voice on the other side of the door. I came with a stifled cry, my thighs trembling as pleasure crashed over me. I barely had time to catch my breath before his footsteps echoed toward the door. “Is anyone there?” My eyes widened. Shit. I yanked my hand out of my shorts and wiped my fingers against my fabric. My heart was about to beat right out of my chest. My ears perked up at the sound of his hand touching the doorknob… I did not even give it a second thought, and I just fled. “Stupid, stupid, stupid…” I had to curse myself out, and it was well deserved at that, because what in the goddess did I just do? My entire body broke out into hives, shivering at just the thought of the fact that I stood outside a man’s door like a creep touching myself to his moans. And of all people, it was Alpha Gale f*****g Steel. I hated Alphas, and I was definitely not a fan of this pompous man who was so smug at the fact that I spent two years fantasizing over him, which I would personally never admit to. No, you’d have to kill me first and claw the truth out of my mouth. I got into my sheets and slapped my face, trying to get myself to calm down, and it was not working. Crazy things are happening, seriously. But why, just why did I have to be in the center of it all?
