Pike My heart throbs in my chest as the echo of the voices fade away. I stand still for a moment, the enormity of my decision weighing on me like a mountain. It’s a terrible decision, one I wouldn’t wish upon anyone, and yet, it’s a decision I made willingly for the sake of the ones I love. With a sudden burst of energy, I push myself off the tree’s bark. The scent of pine and earth fills my nose as I start making my way back to our house.
