26 Exploring the French lines had taken longer than MacKim thought, so the night was already fading when the Rangers merged with McAlpin’s men and hurried back to Quebec. “Who goes?” The Rangers expected the challenge. “Friend!” Kennedy shouted. “Aye, right.
