BALQIS'S POV "A..Adonai?" He coughed, but managed to pull a mask and put it on me. "Are you fine?" I pulled his hand, both happy and terrified at the same time. "Let's leave there's fire and..." "I set everything up. No fire, but will buy me time until..." I pulled him to myself and hugged him, without letting him complete those words. Seeing him is already a blessing on its own. I don't need any explanations. It was slow, but he lifted his hand and hugged me back, so tightly that he could break my bones if I were an enemy. "I'm sorry. I didn't leave you" I hugged him back letting the tears flow and he released me, "Let's get out of here" I obeyed without question, and in the next minute, I was amidst the chaos with our masks on, trying to act like one of the people running around trying to get away from something that was never fire. "Hey!" An officer's voice made me stop immediately when we got to the exit of the main building. Adonai pinned me to the wall immediately with his hand on his lips, telling me not to move. When the officer got no response, he faced another direction and just like that, we escaped to the back of the cell. No one was around, and I got scared of being caught, but he released the mask. "Everyone is busy. We're safe" "Why did you come here?" He pulled a flash drive from his pocket, hastily explaining. "This will get you out. Sheila's brother promised that this is what..." "Why didn't you save me when everyone was calling me a murderer?" He paused, his blue eyes shrank. "I.... I can't let them know it's me and..." "Adonai, I'm tired" I breathed sincerely. "No single moment of joy since I met you... No..." He pulled me over and hugged me tightly. "This is not your fault" His hug felt different from the first one; this one carried self-guilt, tone stern as he confessed. "No one knew me as Adonai. I'm still running from Julius, and I can't put you in danger" I pulled away, holding his hand. "So what happens next? They'll try me by tomorrow and all the evidence was pointing at me" He shoved the flash drive into my palms. "That would keep you safe.... Give it to them at the court only, lie that you hid it in your panties" Tears of gratitude flowed from my eyes. Finally, I'm not going to rot in jail after all. He kissed me before disappearing, but he's given me his word... "Don't panic. I'll be there on the trial day" I got back into the cell safely, and the smoke had died down, but all inmates were being searched. They want to know who caused the smoke just for commotion because nothing got lost and no one escaped. My heart was in my mouth, and the wicked female officer who slapped me during the interrogation got to my side, but just as a person left to get to me, another alarm broke. "Someone has fainted" The woman eyed me, keenly and dangerously, before leaving with a promise. "My eyes on you" ~~> "Riot..." "Keep shut!" The arrogant officer yelled at me, as I looked around the crowd that came to witness my trial, hoping to see my son. The insides of my pussylips are starting to hurt me because of the flash drive I kept in there. I was shoved unceremoniously into the convict box, still in the dead dirty, bloody blue dress. Funny how two days have passed since I've taken a bath. Only if I hadn't gone to the Bermuda mansion... "Mrs Malkova!" I heard a familiar voice from the end, and turning my head, Luna Onika was approaching, beautiful as hell but very worried. She held the hand of a small boy not too taller than her belly, and it took a while before I recognized that this was my son— my only asset, because tears blinded me. "Mommy!!" Riot yelled trying to come to me, but the woman held her back. Cameras turned to him, but no one could talk. "Court!" The order said, and everyone rose to their feet. But my eyes were on Riot, his eyes and hair reminding me of his father. Luna Onika bowed slightly at me, giving Riot a sweet but my body shoved it aside, his eyes not leaving mine. The court session began, the lawyers debating, and I, waiting for when I'd be asked to talk, and so I could present them with the flash. However, after the lawyer's arguments, the judge cleared his throat. "Based on the facts submitted before the court of law, Balqis Malkova is hereby found not guilty and..." Now no one could stop murmuring. I was also surprised, found not guilty? Should I be happy or not? Luna Onika rushed to her feet and left with Riot. The judge rose to his feet and left. I looked all around me, and the lawyers aren't surprised. Not even the police... Only the journalists and the spectators wanna know... I was found not guilty with no evidence, and all the lawyers were saying was what happened at the even,t, and never the truth that I didn't kill the girl. I didn't know who to ask, but I was pulled out of the convict box back to the police van. In the van, I checked the USB drive sadly, wondering what the hell was happening but no one to answer my questions. Just like that, I was released and sent back home. The first thing I did was to take a long bath. It all happened in three days, it felt like three years and I don't want to experience it again. After the bath, I set to call Luna Onika to send Riot over, but as I unlocked my phone, the first message to greet me was an anonymous message that read... "I got you out safely, now it's time to make you mine again. Balqis"
