::Drake's POV::
After a while I left Sarah to accompany her friends while I went and do about a certain business. I did tell Adam and Derrick to phone me if anything and for her to use her mind link in case anything pops up. I just could not rest knowing something like banishing my love without reason was his next move.
Without knocking, I entered the Bronze Fangs Pack's alpha office. I gave a devious smirk before closing the door behind me. He was a taken aback from my visitation. Good. He had a lot to explain to me.
''What can I do for you Drake?'' he somewhat stuttered.
Oh how the alpha in me enjoyed the quivering of an inferior alpha reacting the way he should towards me. This I would never admit to Sarah, but I still remember clearly how he treated her when we first met so there was no shame in basking in the moment right?
''I heard you were going to banish Sarah,'' I tiled my head in sarcasm.
''No, no...'' he panicked, ''I banished her mother, St- Stella!'' he was now gripping the arms from his office chair.
''The point is, why?'' I continued.
I didn't want to give way that the two had met up, and that I knew more than what he was allowing me to know of. It did not matter, I wanted answers and I'm going to get it today!
''The contract,'' he mumbled.
What contract?
''You sent me the reverse contract a month ago, I have it right here,'' he pulled it out from one of his desk drawers.
There it was, that cursed paper of regret. With my pack mark along with my signature, I couldn't help but accept the blow to my guts. My smirk turned into a face of disgust.
''I'm only following protocol, Drake.'' he tried to elaborate, ''When a contract has been reversed, that returns the rogue back to the pack's domain.''
It still did not puzzle together, but he continued on, ''Seeing how unsatisfied you were with the contract we saw no need to have Sarah a part of the pack after all, it would have brought more shame here.''
''MORE shame?!'' I began to feel my muscles tense.
I knew he was a pathetic leader, but this was below scum. To dispose of Sarah without hesitation or consideration even if I had agreed to reverse it was inhumane. But at the same time this was the exact expectation I would have for this weakling.
''Well, Sarah is the Crimson Red Pack's Luna, so do be more respectful towards her.''
A shocked face fell upon the once trembling Xander.
s**t. He didn't need to know that!
''You and your big mouth,'' Terry congratulated me.
I looked away and then collected my reputation, ''This is not to be talked about, and this...'' I grabbed the contract and ripped it into shreds, ''...is null and void!''
I may have looked like I proudly walked out of that office, but I knew I was in for more battles. Xander was not to be trusted, despite his feebleness, he definitely was a threat with the information I just gave out.
''I will protect our mate no matter what,'' Terry assured.
Yes, yes we will.
I drove back over to Adam's house and found Sarah was still safe and sound. She was now snoozing on the couch while Adam made his way into the living room.
''Adorable isn't it?'' he whispered towards her, ''When the b***h isn't all up in her zone she definitely is cute.''
I lifted an eyebrow sarcastically challenging his compliment.
''I said adorable, not sexy, if you haven't noticed I have hit the jack pot,'' he was referring to Gilbert.
''Shut up,'' Gil blushed.
It was none of my business, I didn't know how it was like to be attracted to the same s*x, but it just seemed natural. As long as they're happy there was no need to be indifferent. Besides, they hold a huge part of Sarah's love and happiness. To think they still stuck by through the storm, a storm that was just brewing at that.
I caught Sarah's eyes begin to flutter. She let out a yawn while having her arms out stretched to the sky. She had a cute little drool trail at the edge of her mouth.
''Ew b***h, were you dreaming of swallowing c*m?'' Adam observing for any on his couch.
''Shut up Adam, the time I do that is when you actually eat p***y,'' she countered.
I didn't know whether to be hurt or impressed with that comeback. Nonetheless, she saw me, then changed real quick into a shocked, apologetically expression.
''I don't mind that at all,'' I heard Terry fantasize.
The wolf in me was getting pretty intense as if we did not just salvage her a short time ago. But I had to agree, it was never going to be enough. Her body, her voice, just everything, was paradise. A part of me could not wait to go back home, we can continue hibernation if she requested it.
''Baby, we got to go for now,'' I gently whispered.
Sarah now folding her arms and sitting up straight gave me a little pout then looked away, ''Did you figure out something?''
''Well...'' I stuttered. ''...not so much but I did set things straight with him, he won't be bothering you ever again.''
She did not look impressed. Her face either was droopy from her sleep or she just was not happy. She looked away in dismissal. I didn't know how else to assure her, not like I could prove it guarantee. She's been though a lot, I just want her to always be her happy self. But, today was not that day.
After a while, we said our good byes, and headed home. I can tell that the reunion with her Sarah's mom wasn't exactly as anyone expected. Still, she did take the fall for the exile for her, why would she do that if she despised what she has done.
''Maybe because you've marked her and you're an alpha dumb ass,'' Terry retorted.
That could be true.
The whole tradition of Alpha's cannot be with Omega's had caused a whole lot of commotion through out the years. Apparently, we weren't the first ones to receive the toll, I know my parents were victims to it. As guilty as I am now Sarah and I are a part of it. But what I don't get is why would the moon Goddess allow it to be so? If we weren't meant to be together then why appoint us mates? the puzzle pieces weren't fitting together that's for sure.
''Baby,'' I said to the silent Sarah, ''Do you want anything when we get home?'' I tried to offer.
''No,'' she replied then sighed, ''I just want to be alone for a bit.''
Terry's ears dropped, our mate was emotionally hurt, and we cannot help it. The whole ride there was complete silence except for the hot breaths we released. The snow should begin to stop it's falling soon, but I sorta hoped it didn't so we could just hibernate through it all. That, of course, was just a little fantasy of mine.
We entered the pack's domain and made our way to the mansion. Sarah did not hesitate to exit the car. I didn't get the opportunity to open the door for her. But, I understood, I had to; she was in distress and needed space.
''Welcome home alpha and luna,'' Melody chimed, only to receive a silent dismissal Luna heading to her room.
Not sure why, but Melody instinctively glared at me. What did I do? And then as if she read my mind.
''What did you do?'' she pouted, with hands on her hips.
''It's more like...'' I tried to answer, ''...more like what I didn't do.''
My face dropped to the floor, at this, Melody knew her boundaries and continued on with her duty. I requested for Melody to give my love some food and if given the chance to accompany her. She agreed happily and went on her way. I looked up at the pack mansion. Time has really gone by, I couldn't believe I was ruling over this whole territory for about 8 years.
::Flash Back::
''There is no other way!'' boomed my father.
His natural intimidating figure towered over my frightened mom. She cowered in fear in the corner of the kitchen. She had just called out my name before the whole thing happened. I had already smelt one of her home cook meals coming to a conclusion until I heard a loud bang.
I did not hear my mom yell, but as I was running down the steps from my room I did smell blood. Her blood! Panic rose in me, I just prayed for her to be okay and that it was just an accident that she dropped something or accidentally cut herself.
That, however, was far from it. I peaked from the side of the door frame and witnessed my poor mother shrimping away from my father. My eyes dilated in fear itself, I was only 5! I didn't understand what was going on, but I did know my mother was in trouble.
I innocently ran towards her, but as my father caught a glimpse of me he instantly back handed my whole being. I flew backwards and hit my back against the door frame. The impact was so forceful that I choked on the air that was supposed to leave me body. My body couldn't recuperate from the shock.
''No! Oliver! Leave him alone!'' my mother sobbed.
She still had not moved from her spot, she was having her heart torn to pieces as my father grabbed me by the neck. I didn't have a chance to catch my breath from the earlier incident so I could only feel my body failing me.
His grip was so intense that I felt the panicked heart beats stop at my throat. I could feel my body becoming numb. My eyes began to roll to the back of my head. My thoughts were loud, but my voice was to no avail. And then it happened.
My body began to shift, my bones breaking without the need of my father's grip. My screams silenced, but the agony rising. My eyes watered, my vision becoming a blur. Every muscle tore, my nerves being re-arranged without my consent. Was this death? Was this how I was supposed to die?
Then, a vicious growl rose up through my thoughts. I couldn't make out what it was, but it did sound angry.
''I'm Terry, your wolf,'' it snarled, ''looks like you are in a whole lot of trouble.''
