I don’t even know how long we ran before we were once again standing before the burnt shell of our former home, Conner’s church. “What are we doing..?” I began to ask, but Conner shushed me, slapping a hand over my mouth so quickly it actually hurt. “Someone’s here.” He growled softly into my ear.
