Varek gave him an icy look. “I live here now.” “Varek’s given up his position in the Quickblades and has moved into the palace,” I said. “About time you conceded defeat,” Carth said, then snorted. “I did no such thing,” Varek snapped. I pressed my palm to my forehead. “Enough. Carth and Zain, you should grab some food quickly to recover your strength, while the rest of us prepare to leave.
