Kal had explained that the trackers had taken scent swatches before we came and then took some scent samples of the locals we found. It made it easier to track their scent... kind of like what they do with dogs, but not because that's probably really rude to say like dogs. Isn't it?
The trackers quickly grabbed the items and started sniffing them. Gross, but it had to be done.
They didn't say anything for a while as we still picked up all the items, putting them into a bag. Suddenly, one of them stopped.
"This smells like the villager." It was a plastic bottle with no cap.
We looked in the area and found large bags filled with different things. It looked like they were foraging for certain plants, herbs and things when they were taken.
It was another step, but not the one we wanted.
