“You just don't tolerate injustice!” I kept mentally repeating this to myself, perhaps to try to convince myself that the scene I'd just played out in my council was just to defend an innocent man.
I tried to convince myself that even though my lips said it with complete certainty, that woman didn't belong to me.
I needed to convince my body that I couldn't be that attracted to a woman who wasn't my mate.
But I failed miserably.
I desired my slave so intensely that I could barely concentrate on what my trusted men were saying.
I nodded as they showed me photos and the history of each candidate to be my Luna. Still, I couldn't stop thinking about the woman sitting at my feet and how I wanted her to really be mine.
