To say that the school interrupted into chaos was an understatement. Matt went to the door on the fourth floor where the remaining students were to inform them on the current problem. This was after he had found all of the other red-ties and informed them one at a time of what to expect.
They took the news a lot better than the purple-ties did, especially when he considered how excited Ruby had been before only to find out that she wouldn't be leaving just yet. She was calm throughout the conversation and showed some disappointment, but right afterwards it sank in that her duty was to presume and so she went back to the door with Matt where they found the principal addressing the crowd.
